Need help with budgeting a short trip for my daughter and I...

Hello again, all. I come here as a desperate man. I was on here a lot last summer/fall, and I can't thank you all enough for all the help you gave me for my August 2004 trip. Moving forward, my wife and I are wrapped in a divorce, and my soon to be ex, has "lost" all of the pictures from our trip. I do not believe for one minute these pictures were actually lost, and this trip was so fun for my daughter, it just breaks my heart that they are gone.

Long story short, I want to take my daughter back in December or January for a short trip(2 nights?), to make some new memories, just the two of us. It's tough to make ends meet as a single dad, so any tips or sites or whatever anyone has, to help make this trip doable for me, I will be forever in your debt.

Thanks in advance, everyone.

You can check out www.mousesavers.com for discounts and deals, and right now Disney is offering a package deal for Nov. & Dec. that includes tickets. How old is your daughter?

Where are you from? I'm asking because I'm wondering if you are eligible for Florida discounts.

If you can go for 3 nights, the discounts are fabulous in December. For 3 nights at Pop Century, and 2 - 2 day basic park passes (no hopping), the cost is under $400. $390.48 to be exact.

So, I'd need to get more passes? I'd be there 4 days/3nights, but only be able to go to parks 2 days/nights. How much more would that be?

That's a fantastic deal.
I was going to suggest maybe, just this once, an off property stay. I wonder if that would make a difference. But with that kind of a deal.....

Try calling Mousketrips- the link is at the top of the home page. They won't bite, and they'll be able to find you the package Mickey is talking about, or price out the 4 days/2 days of park passes you want. It won't cost you anything extra to book through a travel agent.

To make it less expensive, you could go to DTD and boardwalk on one day which would not cost an admission price. They will have some great Christmas decorations up at that time which would be fun to see and you could maybe eat somewhere special.

You can do any length of pass you want, but there is a jump between 2 and 3 day passes.

Same deal with 3 day basic park passes: $489.53
with 4 day basic park passes: $516.15

Thanks for clearing that up for me, Mickey. Considering of the 4 days, one will be arrival, and one departure, having 2 day passes would make sense. Then, on the last day, before we leave, we could go to DTD and the boardwalk. That first day, probably won't be there until late afternoon, we could hang out at the resort, or go to a character meal. I can do that at a resort without a park pass, yes?

Ok, if I go that way, I get 2 parks, now my decision becomes, aside from MK, what's my other park?

As long as the restaurants is outside a park, no problem. Chef Mickey's is great, or you could do the Cinderella dinner at 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian.
