Mailing a box o' food

We are visiting the World in June 2003. We are stating at Wilderness Lodge. We plan to send a box full of non-perishible food and supplies via UPS to Wilderness Lodge. The box will be addressed in our name C\O Wilderness Lodge. Most of the food we send will be breakfast and snacks. We plan to eat out for lunch and dinner. We will also make a short grocery stop during our transporation from MCO to WDW. This stop will be for milk and pop and any perishables.
Has anyone does this? Any advice?

I believe that Disney asks that you also mark down the day you plan to check in on the box so that they can easily find you.

We always just go to the store when we arrive. The prices are the same, and I don't have to pay shipping or worry about the package getting there in one piece. Since you are stopping to buy milk and pop, why not get everything else as well?

My advice is rent a car, stop at Walgreen's or Publix on the way there and buy your food. It's seems it would be much easier and cheaper. GOOD LUCK! :D :D

Because we are hiring a towncar service, we will not have enough time to casually shop. The service only gives us a 15 minute stop.

Thanks for the advice about the date.

Who are you using? When we used Tiffany in December, they gave us as long as we wanted, and when we were back in the car in 15 minutes our driver was stunned, in fact, we had to wait for him.

We stop at Walgreen's every time, it only takes 10 -15 minutes and that's with a lot of browsing (by my wife). 15 minutes is plenty of time.:D :D

The Wilderness Lodge also has a store that sells milk and bread.

We used Goodings delivery service this time and were very pleased. We purchased items such as milk, soda, water, fruit, and snack food to have in the room. I prepaid by credit card, and the order arrived at the specified time. Very convenient!

Last trip we all condensed our clothes into each others suitcase leaving us one large one left to check on. You get two large suitcases and one check on bag. I filled it with bags of Quaker oats cereal (no box but with a zip lock top),POpTarts, snacks (fruit snacks, crackers, cookies, raisins) , small plastic bowls and cutlery. a plastic squeeze bottle of Jelly and a small jar of peanut butter. I lined the suit case with a beach towel and then laid another on top. Everything arrived just fine and we were munching our way around the world. We also Purchased a collaspable cooler from our Sams Club filled it with the free ice and kept milk cold. We purchased Milk and bread from the conveince store in the hotel.

I have a family of 6 people and every little bit helped...we at 50% of our breakfast in our room. Splurged on lunch and a lite dinner.
Everyone had there own fanny pack or back pack and picked their own snack for the day.

Any place to get maps/directions to the "good" groceries (aka the cheap, regular ones) near DW? A Walmart or Cosco would be nice too...

I just looked up Costco and Walmart on the internet. Costco does not list a store in Orlando , but Walmart has several .

Most grocery chains have a store locator on their website.

You can use mapquest to get directions from wdw to the store.
