After reading that it had been cancelled here, I posed the question at tourguidemike.com and he emailed me back and told me that I could paste his response if I wanted to share it with everyone so here it is:
What’s Up With The Fantasmic Dinners?


"On February 23, Disney released the Fantasmic Dinner Packages to the Disney Dining System for any reservation requests through March 31, 2003. At approximately March's third week date, they should be released through the end of April 2003, and so on.

The packages have been an enormous success from all points that matter, and they only wish to fine-tune the pricing and 'time grid' before releasing it to the usual 60-day Reservation Window used by the restaurants for dinner at the Disney-MGM Studios.

The pricing structure is definitely going to change, but it looks like any Dinner Packages reserved through March 30 will not be affected. Also, 5 p.m. is currently the latest dinner available for a 7 p.m. Fantasmic performance, but expect that to be changed to an earlier time of perhaps 4:30 p.m.

Unfortunately too many guests show up late for the 5 p.m. seating and then have the nerve to complain that they were rushed through their meal.

Disney is not perfect either, however. It looks like they have been possibly scheduling too many packages towards the end of their available time period, so seating delays have been truly responsible for rushed meals and less-than-preferable seatings at the show.

We will all have to 'stay tuned' to Disney until they get all of these final details ironed out. In the meantime, anyone visiting the Resort in March 2003 should definitely call now to make his or her Fantasmic Dinner Package reservation. The availability is limited ... ;>)"
