Airfare from California
Well, I just just bit the bullet and paid the airfare from California to Orlando November 27 to December 4, 2006. We have had our Disney package booked, but I was hoping to find lower airfare than the Disney Bulk rate of $500 per person. My travel agent got us round trip tickets for $425 per person. I was really hoping that the airlines would have a better sale. My travel agent doesn't think that will happen. I was also freaked out at the prospect of having a lay over somewhere that snows. I get a little rattled flying. If we have bad weather and be a mess. We are leaving Sacramento at 12:00am and flying through the night. I am hoping that the kids will sleep on the plane. We have a short lay over in Dallas. We will arrive in Orlando at 10:15 am. I hated the thought of losing an entire day of vacation on the airplane. We are booked on American Airlines and we already have our seats assigned. Since there are six of us, I am glad we have seat together.
WDW or bust! Robin

Re: Airfare from California
Check out Southwest.com. I just looked and you can fly from Sacramento to Orlando for $173 per person per each way. So that would be $346 round trip per person. You can fly from Sacramento to San Diego to Orlando and then Orlando to Pheonix to Sacramento and avoid any kind of snow delays. Southwest is only booking out to October 27 th right now but that will change soon. Also, you may be a ble to get a better deal by using Ding! It is a program you download and they send you a daily list of discount flights, some as low as $49 each way.

Just watched the First Season of AIRLINE. Reminded me why I refuse to fly them. By the way, I have nothing against SouthWest employees, 'cause most of the crew/staff at SouthWest are decent people who seem to be forced through circumstance to really put up with a lot... ![]()

One nice thing about Southwest, even if you don't fly on them, is that once they release rates for your dates, the other airlines usually match or beat their rates, so you may still be able to fly on American, it might be cheaper if you wait a bit until we see December rates from SW. Shouldn't be too long, they released their last ones several months ago.

We are going in October. This will be our 5th time going. I have always paid under $200.00 roundtrip using Delta. Where are you flying from? We fly out of San Jose, CA. We live in Fresno and travel to San Jose for a lower fare. Try waiting a little longer, closer to your travel date. The airlines always have Fare Sales. Try using Travelocity that way it will give you prices from all airlines. Good Luck!

Re: Airfare from California
I would not worry too much about snow in Dallas. I know this year they got a lot more ice than normal and even some snow but I lived there for over 5 years and I would not worry about that. Even then Dallas did not get much until late December to Jan.

Re: Airfare from California
I got nervous and booked my Airfaire through American Airlines. My AAA travel agent assured if the rates went down I could get it refunded. Well, I called last week because the rates have gone down $75 per person round trip. American said yes I could get a refund since that flight has gone down in price. Unfortunately, there is a $100 per person penality for each ticket and there a 6 of us. This total stinks. I am quit irratated by the travel agent as she gave me BAD advice. I don't travel often and I trusted her. I will chaulk it up as a costly mistake.

Re: Airfare from California
Whoa!
That seems waaaaay too expensive! ![]() It's been a couple of months since I checked Cali/Orlando airfare, but we used to find rates regularly around $300 round trip per person from LAX or SNA. I'm not familiar with flying out of Sacramento though. From here in Oregon, we can regularly find rates for $220! ![]()

Re: Airfare from California
hi there
we are flying from australia, and our connecting flight lax- orlando is about $280 usd return with delta. its a direct flight to orlando, and a 1 stop in atlanta on the way back.... I really had to shop around on a lot of web sites to find it...my travel agent wanted me to get AA for about $500 usd..which was unaceptable as our exchange rate would make it about $650 australian dollars!! hopefully you get a great accomodation package and that makes up for the airline cost. have a great one karen
