Is this Package a good deal?

We have pretty much booked a WDW trip from Dec 14-19, 2003.
We have until next week to pay the deposit, or else we'll have to re-book.
The travel agency worked up 6 days/5 nights at the All-Star Movies Resort, using the Dream Maker Package. (Dalmatian Unit)
We get our room, Ultimate Hopper Passes for the length of our stay to MK, Epcot, MGM, AK, DisneyQuest, Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, Downtown Disney and Wide World of Sports plus one free choice feature and pins/lanyards For $1270.00

Is this good? We thought so, but will we be able to do the water parks in December?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Is this Package a good deal?

I think it depends on how many people are included. Did I miss that?

I'm sure Mickey would be able to give you a very good answer.

I'm planning on going down in December also! December is my personal favorite time of year to go (hardly any crowds) but during the winter months, sometimes the water parks are known to be closed for refurbisment. Last time I went in December, the temperature was only in the high 60's and it actually went down in the 30's during the night (was not expecting it to be that cold, brrrr). You never know how the temperature will be during that time of year, but sometimes it is warm enough to swim and hit the water parks if their open. Have fun on your trip!!!!! :D

We had the dream maker in March and for us it wasn't that great of a deal because we never used our flex feature and would have gotten off cheaper if we would have booked room only and then bought tickets. That was just us it IS a good deal if you use the flex feature. We did figure out we would have gotten a cheaper package if we would have gone thru an all Disney agency like Mousketrips because they know the codes and will use them. Our agent never even mentioned codes!

luckymom, let me know who is going and the ages of everyone under 18, and I can tell you what the price is now and what it will with discounts that will come in the future.

One thing you should note is that it is impossible to reserve a particular room or location in a resort, you can only request it and it is not guaranteed.

I also agree with Willbegone's comment on the park passes. With only 5 nights there, I would suggest a 5 day park hopper. In December, it is often too cold to do the water parks, so why pay for them in advance?

Hmm...so many things the travel agents never tell you...

'Sure, we can get the dalmatian unit' but now they say it is requestedm but never guaranteed!

I wondered about the water parks...be stupid to have passes for something that won't even be open!

My daughter is 8...by the way. It will be just be me, hubby and her.

Luckymom, that is the current price for that package. If you break it down, here are the costs:

Room Only: $431.20
Park Passes: $839

Assuming discounts will be relased, as they have in the past, your room will drop down to about $280 or so. With park passes, you could go with a 5 day park hopper, which would be about $645 for the three of you, so the total would be about $925. Of course, you give up a couple of things that come with the package, as well as a day at the parks and access to the water parks. You could also do a 5 day park hopper plus, which would give you the same access to the parks, but also 2 entrances into other things, and the price would only be about $90 more. (You would have to use both entrances to make it worth it).

One other option is that Disney has started selling a package that the ticekts are lenght of stay, but that they only include access to the theme parks, and are therefore cheaper. I don't know if they will still be selling that package in December, so it may or may not be an option.

I guess I should clarify, the water parks will be open, it is just often too cool to swim. We were there last December (2002) and it never got above about 55 degrees and rained most of the time. Of course, I have been there in December when it was 80 every day, you just never know.

I would guess that
