Re: What would you recommend?
We joined AAA too for big discounts-for $60 a year membership, we save a couple of hundred on each trip. Also, discounts on DDP through them. Worth looking into, plus we use AAA benefits everywhere all year long (restaurants and stores here at home).

Re: What would you recommend?
If shades of Green doesn't provide free transportation, see if you can park at another resort to take the bus. I won't worry too much about buying gifts,he'll just be happy to spend his time with you,at Disney,in a bed and have a shower! You should try to plan where you are going to eat on which nights. If you look up the menu's you could sort of get an idea of the price and how much you'll be spending. And as the time gets closer, they may even have park ticket discounts for military (like he gets in free, you pay 1/2 price) they did this once before when a large number of troops were coming home.My sister went that way once. Her husband is in Iraq now, they got into Seaworld for free, when he was home for 2 weeks last month.

To get a price quote, you will just need to know his rank. ALSO, if it is BOOKED at the time you want, they will offer you the "military rate" at a hotel of equal value, so ask about that? PS. Spending Money—I always ask for Disney Gift Cards for birthday and holidays . . . you can pick them up at any Disney Store and they are good in the parks at all the shops! ![]() |

Re: What would you recommend?
When we stayed at SoG we found the best place to walk to for Disney transportation was the Poly. It's across the street, maybe a 10 minute walk to the buses or monorail.

Re: What would you recommend?
Got $1k saved up now. I'd have more, but I'm in between jobs now. College starts in a week. =/
The more I talked to him while he was on two-week leave, the more I thought he might not be interested. At all. D=

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I'm sure he will feel different after his tour is done. He probably has 40 thousand emotions running on overdrive right now. Just keep planning. |

Re: What would you recommend?
Maybe...
Seriously, though. He's nore interested in a Playstation3 than WDW. He said "I want that for Christmas!" He knows I'm flat broke, except for the $1k I have saved up. =/
