Does anyone know any codes for more than $25 off alamo rent a car compacts? I got a great quote for 8 days compact for $157.00 includes taxes and all but wanted to see if I can beat that. If anyone knows any codes please let me know. Thanks

I always check mousesavers.com. They always have the up to date codes that are available. One of them that I use is a Wal-Mart code. If I remember right, it gives you 20% off plus an additional driver for free. The ID code is 430710. I hope this helps!

Probably something a little better than economy because we will be driving LONG distances. We'll need to be comfortable, but not SUVs, probably a mis-sized sedan.

The codes are really not much good without the coupon. Sometimes they ask for it, sometimes they don't. But if you don't have it with you then you may lose the discount.

I think you got a good price on the car for 8 days!

Whenever I rent from Alamo, they ask me if I have any membership cards such as Sam's, Cosco, AARP, AAA, etc..you can get an extra discount with it.

Dollar has some deals right now, it might be worth a minute to compare.
Car Rental - Rental Cars - Rent A Car | Dollar.com Usually an upgrade from compact to midsize is only a few bucks with them, so check that size car as well

When you put in your dates, the price will show in a yellow and red box on the right side of the page. In that box there will be a link for a 'special rates on this car-click now' or something like that, so be sure to click for the lower rate.

They have some AMEX promo on their front page, but I don't have an AMEX, so I didn't look at it.

Wish, I was pricing a car for my DH and I in Vegas, and they had some good deals ($20.94/day for a compact). But that was a local rental only, not sure about dropping off in NV.

We are renting from Dollar for 11 days and used KISS02 (not sure if it still works now) for a total of $314.00 and that is for a FULL SIZE car. Original quote was for about $510.00.

I always check sidestep.com nightly up until departure. I find the cheapest rental then go directly to the site and apply all of the discount codes from mousesavers ect... I don't think I have ever paid more than $11-14/day for a compact rental. Last trip, I had a 8 day rental for under $100 with the visa discount and a mousesavers code....
Just keep checking!
-I'm not picky on the company though- and we try to do compact- Another tip- I have also received discounts when they did not have my reserved car in stock and wanted to "give" me a free upgrade- I explain I have to pay more for gas with a bigger car so they have discounted for the cost of gas. Silly, but I don't want the upgrade! I booked an economical car. Depending on how many miles you put on it can add up.

Have you priceline-d it?

This may not apply to those renting a car for local in Orlando, since it's already the most competitive rental car market in the US.

But we're going to rent a minivan to drive from Baton Rouge. I tried everyone and all the discount codes and handsdown the best deal I got was throught hotwire.com. (Thanks Mousesavers!). My weekly rate was $100 plus cheaper than everybody else! $269/wk, unlimited mileage for a minivan, all taxes and fees included! Everone else wanted $360-$450.

The way it works is that you specify the pickup and dropoff locations and your dates and times and it gives you daily rates for every size/type vehicle. Pick one and you get a total price (taxes and fees included). When you actually purchase, then you get the name of the rental car company and the paperwork.

They list the rental companies they deal with--it's the majors. The trade-off is the reservation is nonrefundable.
