How much to take?

I am going to WDW in May and Im taking my DD so its only us that I need to worry about for 7 days in the parks. Im on the DDP and wanted to see how much $ should I take on the trip.

It depends of course on how much you like to spend. For me and my DD while on the DP, I will take $150 a day. I like to shop...really like to shop. you could easily get by on $75 a day.

I wanted to take $800.00 but I really NEED to revise that for something that has come up today. I wonder if $500 will get me by. We own EVERYTHING there so I wonder.. I just worry!!

That's about what we budget ($150) each day for non-food things. I would hate to worry about how much we are spending, it would take a lot of the fun out of it for me.

With the DP I think you will be fine. $70 a day for two I think will be ok. I've spent less then that with 4 some days, so, go have fun.

Thanks.. Its just a nail biting type of thing. I was all set for $800 but then I wanted to help out a famuly member who needed it. I think I should be ok but I need to be reassured.

Yeah, I think the two of you will do well and have lots of fun!

You will be well fed with DDP, so no worries on that side at all! I think you will have plenty of money to buy some gifts and enjoy some extra fun.

You might just try to budget the money over the course of the week and it will seem like you have plenty. My family tends to shop around visually at first and get a good idea of what we really-really want before we buy our Disney loot. We also will give each kid a certain budget for their purchases (and of course they can bring some additional $$ too).

I agree that you should be fine....we went for 9 days on the DDP and only spent around $500 while there...we really didn't budget it that way it just happened and we didn't feel restricted

That the great thing about DDP....it leaves a lot less to budget for!

we usually take 100 per day. BUT.. we almost always come back with money left over. We find that if we do not impulse buy and think about wether or not we REALLY want it, we make better choices. You can mostly find the same items throughout the various parks, resorts, dtd. So, if you decide later you want something you can usually find it easy enough.

I don't take much "extra" money anymore just for spending. We'll be doing the DDP so any money we take will be for the F&W Festival and shopping. I agree that I feel like I have pretty much everything I need (and some things I don't) so I won't be spending much. Window shopping of course though!

I budgeted the kids (4 of them when I went in october) with $20 a day. It was plenty of money for them. I bought them one item on the last day and that $20 they had was for whatever they wanted. If they have a certain amount and that's it, their impulse "I want this" isn't there...

I am not a shopper. I would not need $150.00 per day for 2 people -- I would not need that for 4 people if we were on the DDP.

Sharon can shop til she drops with the best of them when it comes to Disney

. Pins alone can be very costly on our trips. If you are not impulse buyers, you should be fine. As to how much for a child, I have no clue, as my child is also my wife, who is older than me.
