Best way to save on Beer for the room.

I was going to rent a car when I got into disney from Tampa but I ot a good deal on a direct flight to MCO so I will be using ME. My last trip I used quicksilver so they stopped for us.

I know that there are some places that will deliver groceries and beer but most make you get atleast $40 worth of food before they will add beer to your delivery. Another option I saw was this place that I could just fax a grocery/beer order to and do not even have to get food.

Im trying to keep my budget really low this time, getting a few beers by the pool really added up my last trip. If i could keep some cold in the room it would really save me some $$$.

Do any delivery services not have a minumum on mandate on food with beer?

Considered taking a cab to the store to get some food and beer, heard it is a $20 cab ride?

Someone sugested taking the bus to DDT and getting from the gas station across the street. I dont know, I feel kind of funny getting back on the bus at DDT with beer?

Would it be cheaper to not use ME and get a taxi or something form the airport and just have them stop?

I know this thread may be a little out there but since my food, tickets, and board is all paid up for the biggest part of my trip in Disney will be the drinks and the souvies. If I save on the booze I get to bring home more souvies.

I wish disney would consider putting a full supermarket on the disney property. I always like to keep things in the room but disney has a nice way of making it so easy to ever leave the property.

Re: Best way to save on Beer for the room.

You can buy beer (like 6 packs) from most of the food courts at the resorts which saves some money. More like $2 a beer vs. $4 a beer at the bars. We have done this and while it may not maximize savings, it does save money and with little effort.

You could opt not to have any beer That would save money all the way around

$2 a beer in savings can add up quick. I didnt realize the six packs were that much cheaper in the food court. Do they sel six packs in the food court at POP? I stayed at ASMovies last year and while the beer int eh gift shop was cheaper it still gets pricey fast.

How about doing without the beer? Just kidding. I know how you beer lovers need your daily bread
The idea of a supermarket on property would still mean lugging your beer on a Disney bus. It would probably cost you $3.00 for a bottle of beer anyway. I am almost certain that a ride with Quicksilver would be the thing to do.
At least that's what we're going to do. Take the town car, stop for beer and water and arrive in style

No beer all togather...now you sound like my girlfreind

Nothing better after long hot day at the parks than a nice cold corona or stella pool side.

I think I may go with QS, they have worked in the past. Are there prices more competative since ME? Whats the going rate from MCO to disney?

Re: Best way to save on Beer for the room.

Just checked, looks like $60. I paid more a few years ago, i think. Can i still leave my bags to go on there own way with ME? or will they get held back or something if I do not get on a bus?

Prob end up using QS and just getting my bags myself.

I donno about the luggage. I bet because of security reasons they would not let you leave the stuff with them and you're in a limo

I know that this year it is slightly less expensive for us than what we paid 3 years ago. But really only slightly. $ 105.00 round trip or something like that.

Re: Best way to save on Beer for the room.

Thats true, i think it would look very suspicious. I would only need it one way so it would not be to bad $$ wise. But I still have to account for the car service in my beer saving adventure

I am going to suggest a money saving idea, take it or leave it.

You purchase a cake of yeast before leaving for Orlando, grab some sugar from the coffee counter, get some hops and barley or what ever beer you would like to drink. Brew your own!!!

Seriously though...it seems to me that it would still be less expensive to use ME and buy a six pack or two in the "gift shop" area than it would be to use a transfer service. Even it a six pack is a bit more expensive there than at a grocery store......

Just my two cents.....

Re: Best way to save on Beer for the room.

Dont temp me. I brew my own beer about 10 times a year. Right now Im working on my Dex Light (tastes like a miller light, dex is my boston terrier) and would love to have my own homebrew in disney.

I already found out you cannot ship beer, I get to ship free through work so that was my first option.

Maybe I can have a keg delivered right to my room, hahahhahaha. Imagine Disney sweets with kegarators.
