For the parks we bring fruit snacks. They don't really snack as much in the parks, but back in the room they love Chef Boyardee Ravioli, and cereal, and of course Entenmann's chocolate donuts. ![]()

Re: Good snacks for packing??
We found however we plan for snacks ahead of time, most end up coming back home with us. The kids aren't in the mood, don't want to carry snacks to the park, for the little snacks that we want in the parks the $3-4 each really isn't that bad...plus we get the Disney Magic from their snacks versus the regular stuff to snack on like at home. I think with carrots, apples, etc available in the parks, it'll be easier to choose a "healthly option" if they are looking for more than a Dole Whip or ice cream. Near the Pres' Hall in MK, they offer fruits, etc at a snack area...The World Showcase has many options too for us to try too...so even with all the planning you can do ahead of time...it doesn't always work out. We do take instant soups/Ravioli's/oatmeal/popcorn packs for late night snacks back at the room while everyone is showering & settling down and need something to get them through morning.

Re: Good snacks for packing??
I bring snacks, but not to the park . . . they do end up melting or getting smashed. Most of the snacks Disney sells are HUGE too, so the kids share (Popcorn, big pretzels, etc.)
I keep the snacks, mini bottles of water, soda, etc . . . back at the room, cuz it saves on the runs to the vending machine ($1.50 for a candy bar) and the kids are always "hungry" late at night before bed! ![]() |

Re: Good snacks for packing??
We've had good luck packing granola bars, fruit snacks, pretzels & goldfish in a small ziploc bag, and raisins.

Carrot sticks hold up really well. Bananas are good to bring also and they keep you satisfied.

Re: Good snacks for packing??
I go to Walmart and buy a big bag of the Sam's brand trail mix. It runs $5.00 for a large bag. I pack it in the luggage along with a few ziplock slidder bags. As we head out for the day I fill a slidder bag with the trail mix and we have snacks on hand. If your large trail mix bag does not have a resealable closure be sure to pack a large rubber band to secure the bag shut.
I also take a zip lock bag and put various sizes of rubber band, large memo clips, and large paper clips and a few large tie wraps. That way if you buy snack and need to secure the package shut you have the right tools. Or if you want to keep your luggage secure while you are out of the room and to prevent mousekeeping/housekeeping from seeing certain things the tie wraps are great. But you also have to add a small pair of scissors or large pair of nailclipper to the zip lock bag to cut the tie wraps off.

Re: Good snacks for packing??
Another good snack I idea I did 2 years ago since we were going to be there for Valentines day, was to shop at the popcorn factory web sights and picked a gift basket that had a bunch of stuff in it. Then my order was shipped directly to the Saratoga Springs Resort. Once we checked in I saw one of the bell hopes take a box up to our room just as we were arriving and he said are you the Farlow's? My husband replied "yes" and was handed the box. I of course knew what it was but played dumb and let him open it. This was a great idea. No running to the store and pack a thing. Just shopped from the comfort of my couch.
I did ask for the package to arrive 4 days before us and I called 2 days before we arrived to make sure it had arrived and it was there as promised. The web sight is www.popcornfactory.com

Re: Good snacks for packing??
I prefer to pack a much more healthier stuff. I love the goldfish, and other higher carbs but you body uses the energy faster and you get hungrier faster. Pack higher protein, with healthy fats such as nuts, good protein bars, hardboil eggs (if kept cooled), cheese and crackers are also good.
AND YES WATER IS A MUST! -p |

My boys like 100 or 90 calorie packs. They are good for them and are easy to carry. They also like fruit rollups and the fruit snacks.

Re: Good snacks for packing??
I packed some snacks and bought some snacks at GG when we were at Pop last week. Most of the stuff I got from GG did not get eaten with the exception of the trail mix bars (which we took to the parks) and the half a box of Pop tarts that were eaten.
We ended up tossing...the bagels, the overripe bananas, and bringing the tube of Pringles to the airport with us for a snack. Noah did drink the 1/2 gallon of milk and 10 apple juice boxes from GG and we went thru a 24 case of Aquafina. I was really surprised how much you get for a snack credit. A box of doughnuts is 1 snack credit. Or a big bag of chips, or big bag of tortilla chips 1 snack credit, you can get a jar of salsa or cheesey dip for 1 snack credit too. Next time we are not getting any snacks and just using our credits. By the end of the week we had way too many credits and snacks left. I hated wasting so much food. Next time I will just get the milk, water, juice, small box of pop tarts and trail mix bars from gg and leave the rest to snack credits. There is a really good selection.

Re: Good snacks for packing??
When we went we got fresh fruit, granola bars, crackers, cereal, water and fruit juice. We were there with my DH's whole family and we didn't eat any of it (although we did drink the water). His niece did like coming over and being able to grab a snack and I carried some of the snacks into the park with us. Truely, there was so much food on the dining plan we didn't need the extra food we bought.
