Help us plan for our 2005 WDW trip

I just have some general questions. My family of four has been to WDW 5 times. The first 4 times we stayed with FIL in Ocala. The last time we stayed at the Quality Inn Suites (not fancy, but nice, clean and close to everything) I am in the process of planning our next trip which will be March of 2005. I have a free certificate for 2 nights free lodging in Orlando that I will pick up for visiting a timeshare in Branson MO. I am looking for any information on the Entertainment Card (if they even have that anymore) or anything on a coupon book that i can purchase for discounts. The kids (ds13 & dd11) want to got to SeaWorld again and go to MGM(never been there). Also we would like to stay on disney grounds for 2 nights. We would like something in the moderate resort but not really extravagant. If that does not work we would like something non-disney but close and economical but nice. No froo froo for my bunch of nuts. Any and all help is appreciated. This is the most time i have ever had planning a trip so it should help with the budget. Thanks again and all advice is welcome.

Welcome to DC Leigh! I would suggest Carribbean Beach or Port Orleans for your stay. I stayed at CBR in March and LOVED it. Using discount codes, you can get a great price! If you check mousesavers.com there are alot of great tips on saving $$ plus the people here are GREAT! Ask away we will help all we can!

Thanks so much Willbegone!!! I have heard about the discount codes, what are they? Tell me about the CBR. What was your favorite part? What parks did you visit?

Welcome to DisneyCentral Leigh. I would have to agree with CBR and POR for moderates. They are both nice and very well priced for a family on a budget. Hang out here and you will gain a lot of knowledge about all things Disney.

WoW Great Response

:p

Thanks so much for the quick response Willbegone, quartz7, tinkerbell & DisneyTeacher.

My mistatke everyone the family and I will be going to WDW in March of 2005. Like i said earlier this is the most time i have ever had trying to plan a trip. I already have a certificate for 2 nights free somewhere. If i cannot get any type of deal on tickets then i will just go and buy from our local DS every other month until i have our tickets. What are the ideas on the CBR. How early can you make reservations? What about the Entertainment card or any type of coupon book.

thats a really good idea :) sorta lay-a-way ticket plan

as for CBR this is my favorite of all the resorts. to me its relaxing but the colors just make you feel so good. there is a wonderful food court, biking, swimming. each "island" has its own pool and there is the huge main pool with a hot tub and a nice water slide. at night you can see SSE all lit up from almost everywhere at CBR

we are requesting Jamacia ..its where we stayed in 1994 (wow cant believe its been that long since we have stayed at CBR!!)
its across the bridge from Old Port Royal but the walk isnt really far. and its a very enjoyable walk :) half way across the bridge there is a spot where they had birds ... I hope that they are still there. SSE = space ship earth or AKA that golf ball thing *grin*

oooo yes very much so .. I always start singing that beach boys song "aruba, jamacia ooo I wanna take ya"

in Old Port Royal where the food court is (they also have a very nice restuarant there too) and the shops there is caribbean music playing and it just makes you wanna dance.
each Island is also a different color. and if you have a time night time out by the lake is just breath taking.

mmmmmmmmmmm

Oh thanks now i will have that song in my head the rest of the day. lol Okay CBR it is. How about the prices what are they like on lodging and food. My kids would love this. By the time we go ds will be 15 and dd will be 13. I have always wanted to go to Jamacia but don't like flying or boating. This might be my chance to get a little piece of the islands. We will be driving from MS long drive but worth it. The end result WDW. Who doesn't love that. thanks for the help. one more thing do you think they have discount codes you can use for CBR . I have never used them before and don't know how to get them or use them.

as far as the codes .. I would have to say check www.mousesavers.com or you might PM Mickey about how to use them .. when we did use a code last year for AKL I had called the Disney Club and just told the castmember the code. .. oooo and you have a shorter drive from MS then we do from East Texas. but its a beautiful drive down through MS. it takes us 15 - 16 hours.. oh have you ever stopped to see the Ship in Mobile?

Oh okay thanks. I will check mousavers. Yes it is a pretty drive. I haven't been to the ship since i was about 10. We always say that we are going to stop. I will have to mention it to the kids and see what they say. Have you stopped there? Gosh I know you are getting excited about going. We were just at WDW in March of this year. I am just addicted to Disney. I just love everything about it. It keeps you so young.
