Re: Jan 2009 Trip ? Any Sugestions ?

Hello! First, January is a great month to visit once the New Years crowds have cleared out. Crowds are typically pretty low. You will def. need to be prepared for a variety of temperatures and weather though! You may get a sunburn one day and freeze the next! If you are staying at a value, I would reccomend POP. It is the newest and also has the best food court (IMHO). The decor is bright and fun and the kids will like it.

If you can afford to come for 12 nights, I say go for it! Will you be driving or flying? A 12 day trip should give you plenty of time to see everything and allow plenty of time for the little ones to rest.

Something else to consider: do you plan on eating alot of sit down meals? If you do, I would suggest getting the DDP. If you plan to do more grab and go, then it probably will not be worth your money.

MB has a legion of amazing trip planners so I am sure in the morning there will be many others chimming in! Good luck and have fun planning!

Re: Jan 2009 Trip ? Any Sugestions ?

pop century was great (it was me, DH, and a 4 & 7 year old).

we did january in 2005 - it was great - not too hot! bring a jacket and dress in layers, just in case its cool. that's a great thing about the little one, the stoller is a great place to stash all the layers if you peel them off!

i'd try to go shortly after new year's - before the MLK crowds, or at end of the month, after that weekend. I don't think it'd be sooo crowded you'd hate being there, but i'd avoid it if you can.

12 days would be fantastic! you can spend so much time at each park, with breaks in the day if you do that (we don't take midday breaks, but lots of people do).

have you been to allears.net to look at menus? it's a great way to plan $$ for food. or consider the dining plan if you think it'd be beneficial to you. your 2 year old can eat free from your plate (or share with the older child), or you can pay for a meal for him/her. That's a big money saver for sure! we felt portions were large enough at most places that sharing would have been fine.

have a great time! let us all know your plans when you get them done!!

Is this your first trip? There are special parts of each park that will really appeal to kids aged 2 and 6. Magic Kingdom is completely packed with things for young kids. I bet they really love Toontown Fair and Fantasyland. Nothing in the world is more fun than watching little kids enjoy Philharmagic!

At Studios, they will sooo love the Muppetvision show. Beauty and the Beast, the Little Mermaid, and that afternoon parade! At Epcot, they can enjoy Nemo while riding in a clamobile. They can see Nemo again at Animal Kingdom in a live show! It's Tough To Be a Bug, and the Boneyard are terrific, and the Lion King show is amazing. They will see so many animals, and a really cool parade!

If you get lucky on the weather and you can go to a water park, the kids will adore it. Both parks have big sections for young kids.

If you are staying for that long you should consider buying an AP and getting the room discount, if it is offered (usually is).
