Re: August anyone?

The early part of the month is still very busy, but starts to calm down towards the end of the month. However, I hear its better than Spring Break week when I am going this year.

Re: August anyone?

My family loves the hot and humid weather, and I think we can manage the crowds with our expierence.

Thanks for all the input!!

Re: August anyone?

We have been in August a couple times. Yes, it is hot & humid, but an excellent end to summer. We are from the Northeast & some summers that has been the only heat we've had!! Usually rain in the afternoon, dries up quickly. Early mornings great, but the best thing about August is Extra Magic Hours until really late(early?) when the weather is still warm enough for Splash Mountain. DisneyQuest, shopping, restaurants & pools a good afternoon break!!!! One negative: massive sized Brazilian tour groups in July & August, but maybe they just plan for my weeks because I always seem to get 120 in the fast pass line of RNRC when I'm in a relatively short stand-by line, until..... (Hence my need to count numbers!)

Re: August anyone?

I have to agree with everyone else. If you don't mind the hot and humid it's all fine and dandy but the crowds are heavy. Big crowds+hot+humid=miserable wife. At 10 years of marriage I don't play that game anymore. :) We tend to go in late April or Early May when the temps and crowds are not as bad.

Re: August anyone?

We researched everything before finalizing our trip plans, but we forgot 1 little thing...weather LOL We used to live in Florida and dealt with it, but we've been in Maine for 9 years now so we are not used to the weather anymore. I keep telling myslef being at Disney will outway the awful weather!

Re: August anyone?

We went last year August 9-19. It was still very hot and humid but the crowds to me didn't seem that bad. It only rained twice. I have also been in July and would have to say that I don't ever plan on doing that again!!

I think after the first week of August the crowds really start to drop off because kids are either back in school or getting ready to go back. We're usually there the first week and it's crowded, I wish we could go the second or third week but like everyone else, we're getting ready to go back to school.

Re: August anyone?

We will be there the last week of August. We were there the same time last year, it was hot!! It rained everyday for about 45 minutes. There were light crowds, and yes, we actually took a break in the middle of the day.

Re: August anyone?

The heat actually is a good excuse to enjoy your resort. Always hit the parks early, come back to the resort for a swim, lunch and nap, and then clean up and hit the parks again. Just got to make sure you don't over do it during the hot summer months. Make it an easy going trip, accepting you are not going to hit everything this time of year.

Re: August anyone?

If you are flexible, the second week of September has BEAUTIFUL weather and almost NO crowds!
