My First Reward Dollars
Just ordered my first reward dollars for WDW. I've got $110 worth on the way!!! Boy it didn't take long for that to add up. That will help quite a bit in Aug. It's like free money, though. No annual fee for the card, no interest charges since I pay the full balance each month, & they just send me "money!" Ain't life magical?!?!:laugh :) :laugh :) :laugh :)

Keep in mind we just finished our basement, installed a home theater, & had 2 graduations & a party. Although I had money stashed, I put lots of stuff on the card so I could rack up points! Plus, it took me about 2 and a half months in which I also put EVERYTHING else on the card, including gas, Starbucks, groceries, cell phone bill, satellite bill, general shopping, etc. I just figure it's easier for me to just write the one check a month & then I get something back for spending money I would have spent anyway!:) :) :D :D

I'm just teasing ya!!
We have been putting an average of $1500 per month on ours. Like you, we charge everything possible, then put the cash in an envelope to be deposited in the bank at the end of the month. We are hoping to pay for some extra nights at WL next year. We always go for 5 nights. Our deal is, however many extra nights we get "free", that's how much longer we'll stay. |

My mum put her half of my sister's college tuition on it!! :laugh She does the same thing as you, minnie: charges every last piece of gum and then pays it off at the end of the month so she can get the extra $$$ with out paying interest. I'll have to call her;phone: and tell her she's not alone

*gulp*
And I was embarassed to get a measly $20. on it... I just asked if Mickey could prepay my room charges on it, so could possibly eek out another $10 before our trip. I put all our room charges on it for my brother's wedding this weekend. Was begging my relatives to put their rooms on my card for the night, and to pay me the cash. I pay off everything immediately too. Disney has just bred a new brand of obsession.

I am a bargain shopper...use coupons at the grocery stores, shop the clearance racks, etc. On top of that I always get something back on my credit cards, of course now it's the Disney card. I come home & tell my DH how much money I saved him from sales or getting rewards or whatever. Of course you know what the answer is..."You'd save me a lot more money if you stayed home!" But really he knows that we've got to have groceries & clothes & buy gifts etc so I might as well get as much as I can for as little as I can spend. He'll really appreciate those Reward Dollars in August!

Ok I am guessing that you guys are talking about the Disney Visa Card right? Is it worth doing? I was considering getting an American Express to book the Hoop De Doo review so I could get the discount. Is that worth it as well?
I know I am being a pain in the butt but I would love to save as much as possible and get the most bang for my buck.

I believe that since there is the new Disney Visa, that Disney cut all ties to American Express..therefore there are no more discounts using that card. (am i correct?) The Disney Visa offers Disney Reward Dollars, at 1%...so you get $1.00 disney dollar per $100.00 spent.

There is no American Express discount on hoop-dee-doo. The only discount for the HDD is at the 9 pm show using your AAA, Disney Club.:D

Navywife - I think the AAA discount is 10% - there's a savings grid for each discount card somewhere on the net and it's driving me nuts that I can't ifnd it right now. :(
