Good question. I am constantly trying to think of things to get extra money or ways to save.

Try having a garage sale or clearing out your closet & selling unwanted items on ebay.

Saving change is also a great way to get a few extra bucks saved up so a little extra spending cash.

Hey, if you (or anyone else) can think of ways of saving a few bucks here & there, I would be happy to hear about it as well! LOL!!:D

We eat cereal or breakfast bars in our rooms to save $ and time. We also bring sandwiches for lunch, especially at MK and eat on Tom Sawyers Island.

I think alot of folks on DC will tell you that food is the most obvious way to save... alot of people share meals as most of Disney's meals are very large. In fact, on one visit, my son and I split a kids chicken finger meal in EPCOT and were plenty full. Breakfast in the rooms as jbtoursejg mentionned. We eat a huge Character meal breakfast as late as possible and tend to skip lunch.

We buy some of our souvenirs before we get to WDW - okay, the kids don't realize that, but I just pack up a bag of things and pop them out when they least expect it.

If you plan to pin trade, I would recommend checking out ebay for lanyards and pins for alot less than you will spend in the park. Don't worry about which pins you get because you will trade them for the ones you do like in the park. I paid about $2 per pin rather than $6.50-$8.50 in the park.

I agree, the best place for you to save while you are there is FOOD...try eating late breakfasts or lunches...not only will you most likely skip the next meal, but you will have the restaurant all to yourselves! For example, eat breakfast at the last possible sitting. You will probably miss lunch, then you will enjoy a great dinner. Or eat at the last seating of lunch and you don't need to spend $$ on a huge sit down meal, you can just grab a snack!

Also, before you go, you can take a few dollars a week and buy DISNEY DOLLARS. You won't miss it and you won't be able to spend it before you go to WDW. And before you know it, you will have meals and/or souveniers paid for!!! :D

I like the Disney Dollars idea. After I read it on another post I went and saved up a few x-tra dollars in between paychecks and bought some. Every now and then when Im near the mall I stop in and get more. I think we have about 100 disney dollars now.

Also the change idea is great. We use a plastic water jug and put all our change into it almost everyday and then usual the day before we leave we go and empty it out. Last year the whole thing was almost full (mostly with quarters :D ) We wound up with around 800 dollars which was GREAT :D

Well I quite smoking 5 years ago. Every night I take a $5.00 bill and put in a jar marked "Disney fund". At the end of the year that adds up!!!!! I also have $100.00 a paycheck taken out and direct deposited into a special account at our credit union (My wife belongs to the same one and she puts money in also) and we try to use that money striclty for vacations and covering our morgtage payments during the summer when my wife is off (She's a school teacher). It actually works outr pretty well and you don't really miss the money if you keep it seperate!:)

The Disney dollar idea is a great one. So good that I just returned with 100 disney dollars left over and will save them for next year. We also do the change jar, in a year you could easily save up 800 or so dollars that way.
I think you getting an AP is a great idea since you are going twice in a years time.

Have Fun planning!!

I'm sorry...I am so confused...I thought you were looking for ideas to save while in the park...LOL!

I think I posted on another thread that we put our change in a jar. I also sell some things on ebay and when people pay me by paypal, I leave the money in there until my trip and then transfer it over in time for my trip.

I'm sure there are some other good savings plans out there...:D

we do this too :) I go to wal mart before we go and get a few boxes, then I go down to the resort store and buy milk (milk at the store is cheaper then in the food courts) We do this any morning that we are not having a character breakfast. I have even taken those little boxes of cereal too, just grab extra bowls and plastic spoons when I am down at the food court.

Mickaholic, I could not agree more! After we check into our villa, we go food shopping for the week. We buy a case of soda, a case of water and lots of other food for the room. I actually just found a GREAT soft cooler that holds 36 cans of soda and it is really great! It is PERFECT to fit in the basket of a baby carriage. I got it for only $15 at COSTCO WHOLESALE. This was a great find, since the one I always bring only holds 6-8 cans and not much else!!! $15 was a steal for this item, and it is made well, too!!!
