Saving money Part Two
A few days ago I asked about money saving tips and I thank everybody kindly for thier ideas. But I was not clear in my question. Last trip(April) we had the silver plan, and it was very
good we thought. We used most of the wishes for excellent dinners all over Disney. We had too many left over, but that is off the track. And yes we know that even if the silver plan was a good way to go we were paying for it. This trip coming in October, we will be staying at the Contempary with SOG, A really good deal, but other than that, How can we take advantage of anyother discounts? We also have a trip coming in April 04, So we were thinking of the Premium Annual Passes (16 Days combined for two trips) I will be only using cash and travelers checks, So, all you Disney Smart people out there, were else in the parks can we save? Again Thank You Kindly ![]() |

In regards to the annual pass, from what I've read here: If your going to go twice in the span of a tweleve month period AND the total time is going to be MORE then eight days then the annual pass is the way to go. WE were down in November 2001 and didn't plan on going back until this year. Well a good deal came up for us so we went in July 2002. If I had known I would definetly bought an annual pass. It would have saved us some money!:)

Only buy PAP's if you will use the Water Parks feature or PI enough times to make up the difference from PAP's and AP's - otherwise, buy AP's and pick up individual tickets to the parks, if you go.
We bring a box of food to eat breakfast and snack out of. We also make our own lunch to take to the parks several days. PB&J's taste really good when you're hungry. LOL! We also pick up a case of bottled water, and a couple two-liters soda & use ice. I don't buy the refillables, since it's more expensive and they don't hold very much. If you are using a limo service to get to Disney, many of them will 'preshop' for you and hve the stuff waiting.

Hands down the A/P gets you the biggest discounts on your room. We're going this Nov 03 staying at the POLY. The A/P will save us approx $130 per night. You would have to eat tons of PB and J's to save that much. :D

Are you buying your tickets with the Salute to Savings think for military? I am guessing that you are military because of the SOG thing. That is a real savings! Active member gets in for free for a 5 days pass and up to 5 family or friends get in for $99 each.

Hello Navywife
Yes I am retired, (disabled) and yes the SOG seems like a great deal, I don't think i would be able to use the deal you are talking about. But I was thinking of the PAP. We have an eight day trip in October at the Contempary (SOG) and then again in April 04 at the real SOG. That being sixteen days I thought that would be the way to go. We will be using the water parks and DisneyQuest on both trips. SOG has the best price I can find for the PAP. Unless you or others know otherwise? Thanks :)

I have to agree that the PAP are probably going to be your best deal. I also believe that you avoid sales tax with them. On your note you said that you were going back a second time. On thing to look into is if Disney rates change each year. It might be worth while to purchase your tickets for your April trip early before any rate increases. That could save you some money right there.
On these boards I have also read about people saying that they do meal sharing to cut down costs. I have never been there but others have said that you two adults can share one meal because most of the portions are pretty large. But I have to tell you that this site is the way to go. If there is a deal people in this group will find it. Just keep watching!!:)
