Is it really worth it for the Q&C meal vouchers??

Hello! I have read several posts about these meal vouchers that you obtain from connections123. I was wondering if they are really worth the trouble to buy? My family hardly ever eats desert with a meal when we are out like that. Are they good for any of the nicer dinner places?? If not, does connections have the dinner vouchers that you can purchase? Look forward to hearing from you!

Thanks!

We used the vouchers and enjoyed having our meals paid for in advance. We didn't necessarily eat the desserts, but the kids sure loved them! :D They are only for counter service restaurants.

The Breakfast voucher was great for a character breakfast. Only get the adult voucher though as the child's voucher doesn't save a penny.

I've never heard of a dinner voucher, but they had lunch vouchers, but once again, I don't think they saved anything. We didn't use them as we prefer to spend our time on the attractions and rides than in the restaurants.

:):)HTH!!!:):)

We do the Princess breakfasts, save $7 an adult there - for us for a week, we save $45-$60 a week right there.

We've never ate at the more expensive restaurants, or the lone sit-down, Beaches and Cream for the Q&C, so those have only saved us $10-$20. We try to pick out fruit items for deserts, although that chocolate cake they have all over the place is pretty darn addicitng. My daughter and I usually split one lunch voucher together.

For us, the expensive Lunch vouchers are a complete waste of money, since we don't eat that much. I have heard a rumor that there are Kingdom dinner vouchers coming out later this summer that is supposed to be good at many of the dinner shows, interested in seeing what that pricing is.

An additional side benefit for me are the Toys R Us and KB Toys and Barnes and Nobel gift cards, and the Red Lobster and Olive Garden gift cards. We usually give the teachers gift cards at school, so to be getting money back on those is nice. We shop at KB and TRU anyways, so the kickback on the cards is like getting 20% off. It's great.

I know I've been one of the biggest opponents to Connections/MWI, but after my big blow-out iwth them, I've gotten nothing but great service from the past month, and everything in writing.

Hi and welcome to DC!!! The Quick and Casual meal vouchers are only worth it if you buy the most expensive things on the menu and you research which places to go to, beforehand. The vouchers cost $11 and change through Connections, and if you don't take advantage of the dessert at a regular counter service restaurant, it won't be THAT much of a deal. However, there are definitely some places where you can really get your money's worth!

They do offer Vacation Kingdom Lunch certificates, which do seem like a good value if you plan on going to the good restaurants at WDW. They cost $30 on Connections.
For Example, at Rainforest Cafe at AK or DTD, you can have a $13 appetizer, a $40 entree, a $10 dessert and a drink....so that's worth it!!! It's also really worth it at the restaurant in Italy at Epcot and Le Cellier...those are the only ones I have researched yet, but I will let you know if I find out more. I will be ordering a few for our August trip.

Oh, they are selling for like $40 each on ebay!!!

DisneyAnne, do you think the breakfast vouchers are worth it??? Maybe I was reading it wrong or I have wrong info, but Chef Mickeys is $16.99 per Adult at the door, $17.99 through Connections 123...I wonder why it is more expensive than on-site??? Hmmmmm....:hmmm :hmmm :hmmm

Well, first of all, my goal is to have as much paid for before I go. Therefore, anything I can buy on the front end is a plus for me in that aspect. That is my main purpose in using these.

I only paid $17.50 per certificate so they must have gone up some.

As far as the amount you save....well, $16.99 + 6.5% tax=$18.09 + 20% tip = $21.75.

As you can see, I saved about $4.50 per adults so the total saved for 3 was $13.50. We only did one character meal, but if you multiply that by a meal or two, it definitely pays off. Heck, for us it paid off for just one meal. That is lunch for an adult and a child at counter service.

I really had to work the numbers on these vouchers, but it does make a difference for my family. ;)

OK, now I understand! And yes, they are $17.50...I was off a littlel bit. And I completely forgot about the tax and tip! You are absolutely right...I think I will buy a few after all!!! I also agree about having as much paid for before hand, which is why I am thinking of buying the Vacation Kingdom lunch certificates, also. We plan on eating LATE, LATE lunches (so we don't have to eat such big meals so late at night...and heck, save money, too!!1 ;) )
So these lunches will be our BIG meals of some days...so we will make these lunch certificates worth their weight in gold.

Thanks for the clarity...it helped, and now I am going to order them!!1 :D

WE PLAN ON EATING BREAKFAST AT THE VILLA EVERY DAY..BUT, I MAY GET VOUCHERS FOR MY DAUGHTER TO HAVE A COUPLE OF CHARACTER BREAKFASTS WHILE WE ARE THERE. I MAY GO AHEAD AND DO THE TRIAL PERIOD JUST TO SEE WHAT I CAN GET. IS IT TRUE THAT THEY ALSO OFFER DISCOUNTED PARK HOPPER PASSES AS WELL??

I have a question Mickmac regarding the dinner vouchers that you mentioned. Are they going to be offered through Connections 123 or is it a Disney thing?

Another thing that I forgot to ask is how much does Connections 123 Cost?

Also the breakfast character meal vouchers-Can they be used at all of them or just certain ones? Because do any of the breakfast have to be paid for in advance when you make the reservations with Disney like you do with the Hoop De Doo Review?

Lastly, with Connections 123 can you use them to buy Disney Giftcards?

When you look on their website you cant get anywhere without purchasing a membership.

I think it costs $90 a year. You can join for a 30 day trial period for $1, which is what I did last year, but am keeping it this time around since I buy other things from them as well, and have all ready saved money on it.

You cannot buy Disney Gift cards through Connections.

I have only heard of the dinner vouchers through Connections, although would expect them to be a Disney creation, since the other vouchers are as well.

It is very frustrating to try to get information from them, without joining. Irks me to no end.

Yes, they offer discounted Park Hopper Plus tickets (ex: 5-day ticket for adults right now is $236.76), plus discounted tickets to other parks like Disneyland, Busch Gardens, Sea World, Sesame Place, Water Country, Six Flags, etc.

The character breakfasts restaurants that accept the vouchers are:

Cape May Cafe
Chef Mickey's
1900 Park Fare
Ohana
Princess Storybook Breakfast
Crystal Palace
Cinderella's Royal Table
Rstaurantosaurus

They are accepted at most other sit down restaurants at resorts and in the parks for breakfast as well.

Can you buy Rainforest Cafe gift cards through them as well? I am trying to figure out if it is worth it to purchase these things before we go. I am going to join the Safari Club through Rainforest Soon. Also you mentioned that you can buy the Character Breakfasts through Connections 123. Can you Buy Dinner Character Meals as well?

Right now, you cannot use them on dinners. I don't know how the new Dinner vouchers are going to pan out. I've heard they are expensive.

They don't have a Rainforest card, but you can buy $10 Planet Hollywod gift cards, then at the end of the month get $2. back.

I've heard the money back is on active memberships, I haven't read the fine print on that one since I'm keeping our membership.
