How would you spend $500?
Here's the deal, I have $492 on a Disney rewards card that expires 12/31/08. We are staying 5 nights at a Saratoga Springs 2 bedroom villa this November, so I have to spend it all this trip. The room, park tickets and 1 meal at the Rainforest Cafe are already paid for. Since I can use the rewards card to pay for my room charges and I can charge just about anything to my room, I can really use the money for just about anything . We want eat at the Morocco restuarant this time. So that's $100 right there (2 adults, 3 kids). Since we have a kitchen in the villa, we usually eat most meals there. The question is what else would you spend the money on? (We could always eat out more or buy yet another souvenir, but I know the people on this site are more creative than that.)

I would buy a very special souvenier. Something that you would never usually get because it was too expensive. Can you use it for the Photopass CD or maybe a family picture done by a professional down there?.....Or a day at the GF Spa!

Are you not using the dining plan? If it were me I'd just apply the gift card to my dining plan amount.

I would easily spend the $500 just on parks snacks, drinks...etc for my family of 5. I would probably add a t-shirt or a special holiday ornament. We stayed off property but still ate one counter service and snacks at the park. Things do add up with a big family.

The dining plan wouldn't work for us. The 2 youngest hardly eat at all. I thought about a spa treatment for wife. That could be money well spent (wink wink). I think Saratoga is supposed to have as nice a spa as GF, maybe nicer. A really special souvenir isn't a bad idea. Wonder how much they want for that glass slipper in the new suite in Cindy's Castle???

how about for something that you would not normally do like a spa treatment or a tour or bike rentals etc...Maybe hoop de doo or cirque or something special like that?

At was thing restaurants at first but what a additional day or days at WDW. Nothing like extending your trip even if its to spend the day at the pool.

How about a Hoop Dee Do or one of the tours they offer? I like the idea of Cirque if that is possible. I think you'd really like that! Cirque and dinner at DTD!

I would indulge in one great item from the park that you always say to yourself, "I wish I could afford that!" I know after every trip I have looked at things on-line wishing I would have bought that. A great piece of art or coat. I like the idea of buying Disney dollars. Or upgrade my park passes to an annual pass for my next trip, or increases the days on all the park passes with no expiration on them. I envy any one who would have an extra $500 dollars to spend.

There was this wonderful painting of the Castle that I believe was around $700, which would never even be a thought in my head of spending. But, if my rewards card could bring it down to something reasonable, I would purchase it in a minute. I guess what I'm getting at is use it for something special, that would normally be out of reach.
