Is this a do-able budget ?
Wondering if it is at all possible to stay inside Disney for 7-nights at a budget of $3,000.00.
This would have to include: Airfare for 4 Lodging for 4 (All-Stars? CBR/CSR?) Passes - 3 adult 1 child spending money This would be for May - regular season?? Thanks !! Any input would be great!!

Buzz, I think it is doable but you may have to go to the grocery store and do some sack lunches. We just went in May and with Airfare, Hotel (AKL), Rental car, park hoppers, meals and souveniers we were right at $3100.00 for 2 adults and 1 child (21 months so she was free for everything) we did have some pricey meals dinner alone was around $100.00 a couple of nights. So if you stay at a moderate and don't go crazy with your meals I think you can pull it off. Good luck and have fun!:D

Buzz,
I would think if you forgo any extras and do sack meals you should be fine but I don't know a lot about air fare prices. I hope if you work it out, you will give us the details b/c I love hearing about people's budgeting ideas for disney and how much you can do on as little as possible. Good luck. ps I love going in May!! (Just not Memorial day weekend!)

It would be tough. The things that will eat up your budget are the airfare (over 1,000) and your tickets also around 800 to 900 dollars. We went on vacation last year spent 6 day in disney and 4 days in St. Pete's for just under 3,600 dollars (for the 5 of us). To save money we drove instead of flying and that saved us 1,300.00 dollars. We also only ate breakfast out 4 of the 11 days we were gone. We purchased bagel, donuts and poptarts and yogurt/fruit and ate breakfast in the hotel room. You could save a bundle if you drive (I don't know if this is an option for you). We left NJ at 11pm and drove all night taking turns and we were in St. Pete's Beach by 5pm the next day. Our DS's slept most of the way so their was no problem. I love and perfer to fly but I wanted to go to disney so bad that I was willing to drive down.
I think that you may be able to pull if off but you'll have to be creative. But then again aren't DC'ers creative when it comes to all things disney. Paula

Thanks all.
The 3000 dollar budget is actually for one of the other famailies that are joining us next trip. I am more realistic about the actual costs to stay at Disney. But I am trying to budget it for them as much as possible, and what the heck I may save some money myself at the same time. Hopefully we'll be able to work out this Disney on a shoestring budget for them. Thanks again!!!

I AM excited for you, Jacki! :) Hmm...might have something to do with the fact that I'll be going to WDW at the same time as you!! Still holding out for my airfare deals, but pretty much everything else is booked. :D
YAY! And it sounds like you got a pretty good deal! Not a bad budget at all. BTW...welcome to DC. :) :) :)

Jacki,
What a great deal on your vacation package! To keep your dad somewhat entertained, have him search for hidden Mickeys. They are images of Mickey Mouse hidden/concealed within an attraction, ride, murals, etc. They're all over the park. While you're all on a ride, he can be sitting somewhere looking for a hidden Mickey. For more info, visit www.hiddenmickeys.org. Good luck! -Em
