thanks jmouse for your response. i appreciate it. i have some ideas on how to save money right now for a disney wedding. i'm just looking to see if there are more ideas out there.
so far, i thought that we don't need a cocktail people because the guests that we want don't drink. 2) we would get married at a pre-decorated location so we don't really need flowers. 3) i have a great idea on the bouquet. are you familiar with gwen stefani, the lead singer of the band no doubt? well, for her bouquet, she had her grandmother's bible and on top of it was flowers. i was thinking of having that as my bouquet instead of $250 flowers that'll day within days. i can't think of my other ideas right now because my brain is numb with all this thinking about the wedding. i'll let you know on my other ideas. |

I was married at Disney World through Fairy Tale Weddings. To save money, we chose an intimate wedding. It was small, and romantic. We chose the simplest wedding package available, without the added honeymoon stay . Then we kept our honeymoon short. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge for 3 nights. We paid for the room only, and purchased our park tickets at the Disney Store before we left home.
It was simple and beautiful and met our needs perfectly!

i would love the intimate wedding but we both have big families. his brothers and sisters have kids, so his side is a little bigger than mine. so the intimate wedding is out of the question.
mainly, i'm just looking for little ideas on saving money on certain things so that the saved money can go to bigger things. i would love the arrive at the wedding in cinderella's coach. 2,500 is a lot of money. wait a minute, the honeymoon is part of the wedding package? i don't remember reading about that anywhere. |

You could ditch the photographer and give disposables to the Guests. Or, better yet, ask a talented family member to photograph for you. The only thing you will miss is the 'choreography' that a traditional wedding photographer does. Same with a videographer. Have someone just set it up, up front, then let it roll unattended.
I think it would help knowing what the packages entail, and what you can or cannot cut, in order to make more intelligent recommendations. Disney has stringent rules on what can be photographed professionally, but no one is going to stop a bride on her wedding day, being photographed by her loving family members, know what I mean? I love your flower idea!

Check out the Disneymooners group. They were a lot of help when I was planning my Disney wedding.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/disneymooners/ We had an intimate wedding and it was perfect. I can't offer too many helpful tips for saving money with a Custom wedding, but the people in the disneymooners group usually have good advice. :D
