No, you can be a standard AP holder, too. You can also have just one person in your party have the pass, and can book up to three rooms per trip.

thanks MickeyMac!!! I have been adding things up ..the regular AP's are a good bit cheaper .. I think it would be best if I got 4 .. one for each of us. I have been going over and putting in prices and dates .. for august and for a package I came up with $3578.00 at the Pop Century (15 nights)
so ..going back and forth .. AP's or no AP's .. I think if we got the AP's then it would be easy to get DH to go for a few days the end of May when school lets out ...then have another trip planned for August. Just the thought of going twice in one year makes me so excited I cant think of anything else ..its those dang WDW commercials !!

Tink, I think you should get the APs and DON'T book a package in August. YOu will save A LOT of money if you don't book a package and just book a room...contingent on them having discounts for the dates you want to travel. If you stay 15 days in August, you will MORE than break even with your AP. They say if you go to the parks 8 days or more using your pass, you make out on the deal. PLUS you get great room discounts, and other discounts, too! 10% off at the World of Disney and 10% off most restaurants for lunch (some for dinner, too!). GOOD LUCK!!!! ;)

Heartily second what ILuvWDW said - look up pricing for ROOM ONLY instead of a package and see what you came up with.

FWIW, I paid something like $55 or $60 a night in mid July, 2002. My bill for nine nights was an embarassing $500 something, for All Star Sports.

...and we continued to go back for a grand total of 43 nights, on the same AP's... LOL!

If you buy your AP ticket at The Ocala Center, you will receive an active ticket, not a voucher. I don't know if they can take a voucher and turn it into an active ticket.

Are you stopping there for anything else? If not, I would save the time and just activate the voucher at a park or DTD's Guest Services. The parks where we have found it the fastest to activate a voucher are MGM and Epcot, especially the World Showcase Entrance.

jmouse we maybe stopping in Ocala over night instead of gainesville because I have a friend that lives near Ocala. I think I will just wait and see. It cant hurt to go in and try if they are open when we go through there.

AP Voucher at Disney Store

Last year, I used the AP for my room discount. You can buy the AP Voucher at the Disney Store and if you go to MK the first day there, the Customer Relations window is open prior to the park and you can exchange the voucher for the AP ticket then. I did just that last year. CBR accepted the voucher for my AP room discount when I checked in. In addition to the room discounts, most restaurants in Epcot give AP discounts. The AP comes with a list of all WDW AP discounts.

That's exactly what I said to myself last year. Your DH and I think alike!
PS Verify with your local Disney Store that they sell the vouchers. I hear tell that some Disney Stores sell vouchers while some only sell the APs. You want the voucher because they are good for 1 year and the clock starts when you buy the AP. If you get an AP at the Disney store, the clock starts right then. If you buy a voucher at the Disney store, the clock starts when you exchange the voucher at the Guest Relations window. It could make a difference to you.

I wish we had met up also

That would have been nice. It was just one of those things. I dont think we are going to WDW this year. Perhaps in 2005. Good luck (or do I say bon voyage?) this year.

I forgot to mention, I had to show the CM my voucher during checkin at the CBR Customs House.
