how many meal vouchers to purchase

Hello,

I am going to Disney on a 4 night/5 day trip - how many Q & C meal vouchers should I purchase for myself and 2 year old. Should I also purchase the feature breakfast voucher or wait and pay at the location.

Thanks so much...

Where are you going for your character breakfast?

Is it *just* the two of you?

How many meals do you plan on eating?

Do you plan on going to the Animal Kingdom at all?

Do you and your 2yo share meals?

Thanks, that helps! :D

MickeyMac,

My sister and niece are going too (but she's purchasing her own vouchers)

Character breakfast at Chef Mickey's.

Two big meals (one smaller meal)

Yes, we are visiting the AK.

Yes, we do share meals.

This is our itinerary

day 1 - arrrive (dinner @ Downtown Disney)
day 2 - MK
day 3 - character breakfast and dinner at Boma
day 4 - AK
day 5 - departure.

Thanks for your help.

I have seen so many posts about these vouchers. How do you get them anyway? I really am clueless on this subject.

It looks like you would need two Quick and Casuals and one breakfast voucher - adult only. I wouldn't get any kids vouchers, even if the child were older, as the kids meals are cheaper to buy than the vouchers. The Q&C ones, use for your day at MK. Buy the Animal Kingdom voucher AT the park, or buy a la carte.

Frankly, if it were just me and a child that small, I might even forgo the vouchers all together and order a la carte (I usually order just water, anyways, and they will give you a cup of ice water for free) Remember that the vouchers include soda and desserts - if you don't eat/drink that routinely, your meals will be cheaper going off the menu.

Jmouse - kids under three eat free at restaurants, but is that also true at the fast food places? How would they police that?

Dana, I joined Connections123.com, but I know others have joined Hotwire, or Lillian Vernon on a short term basis (month by month) and been very successfully using the program.

Mickey Mac, you are correct, children under 3 eat free at the sit-down restaurants.

I agree with those who wouldn't buy the vouchers for the child. I would think the adult meal would be large enough to share.

My sister thought it would be a good way to prepay for our meals and not have to carry so much money around.

Maybe I'll just purchase the feature breakfast voucher (since it provides a little savings and includes tax & tip)

I just signed up for the hotwire savings club it is a monthly membership of $7.95...not too bad.

Thanks.

I just joined too. After looking at the prices for the vouchers and comparing them to the prices listed in the Passporter and on wdwig.com, I don't see a savings for me and my DD. I have already paid a $15.00 deposit on both CRT and the Princess Storybook breakfast and they are the only two I would actually save anything on. The lunch vouchers are a bit over the top too. $11.25 for counter service meal is over the price range of what it actually costs at the park. I would have loved to have prepaid for some of these meals (don't like having to carry all that moeny either), but I don't want to buy them and actually lose money. I couldn't find one lunch that came out to $11.25 for me. These would be ideal for big eaters and growing boys, but not for me. Thanks so much for the help with finding them and sorry to have jumped in your thread to find this information.

Again, I will recommend the VACATION KINGDOM LUNCH vouchers. We got WELL OVER our money's worth with these!!!! Our meal for 3 Adults was $180 in Italy at Epcot...including tax and tip. We paid $90 for 3 vouchers, which include tax and tip....it was SO worth it! And the last seating for lunch at Alfredo's is 4:15pm, and by the time you eat, it's DINNER!!!!!

GOOD LUCK!

Is it not correct that you can get your credit card deposit back over the phone before your trip & still use your vouchers for the character breakfast?? I'm pretty sure that is right...so, if you buy them, you will still save money since you will get your deposit back. Maybe someone else can confirm this...but, I am 99.9% sure this is right....!
