We eat breakfast in our room (cereal, cereal bars, apples, etc) and then for lunch we typically do counter service. A lot of the time, hubby and I will split a hamburger and fries and only spend $7 or so bucks for both of us to eat. If we are really hungry, we'll split a double cheeseburger and then head to the toppings bar (Pecos Bills, Pinocchio's, or Cosmic Ray's) That is always more than enough! For the 4 of us, we average $25 for lunch everyday.
Then for supper, we choose a nice sit down. We average $65 to $75 for dinner for the 4 of us. (Our only drinks are non-alcoholic and each child orders off the kids menu). We also figure $10/day for snacks (one snack for each of us!) The meal vouchers at Animal Kingdom are great! You pay $11 per adult and get lunch and a drink, and then you can pick two snacks that day. You choices are popcorn, ice cream, bottled water OR bottle of soda.

We also eat out of the room for breakfast and once or twice during our vacation for lunch or dinner. I bring a hot pot with me and some canned ravioli or angel hair pasta with a sauce or mac&cheese or a beef stew or something. The hot pot I picked up at Walmart for only $11 and it's lasted us many many trips. I also use it to cook oatmeal in in the morning, and tea when just hanging out.
We buy bottled drinks and water to take into the parks with us, and will pack PB&J's and snacks when DH isn't with us, and will do lunch that way many days. We use the Quick and Casual meal vouchers, and the Breakfast Feature vouchers (those, for our character breafasts - on the princess breakfasts, we save $7. avg per adult ticket - for us, that's $21 a meal.) If you do a search on 'Vouchers' you will find many many threads to educate yourself on - I wish I could recreate all the data here in one post, but I've two dogs tearing fur out at my feet and need to be booted into the yard for a bit... :p

My daughter and I bring breakfast for each day, fruit, muffins and coffee. We head out very early and do not want to "waste" time eating :p After running around for 4 or 5 hours, depending on the weather, we head back to our room for a shower or swim. We cool off and rest or hang at the resort with some healthy bring along snacks like peanut butter crackers, those little fruit cups and yes some great gummy mice and jelly beans that we get downtown Disney. Around 2 or 3 we head back out and we always go out to eat dinner at a nice place, because meals have been "light" we do it up for dinner. I have never tried the vouchers but I am considering them. Last year we averaged, for the two of us, $30.00 for dinner with out tip. Now we do not drink and usually split and share things. We bring all our water (we drink lots of water) and use the refillable mugs. At least once a trip we will get the ice cream:love: as we wait for a show or parade.
If we bring the boys I do things differently because they need to eat on a regular basis:dazed My daughter and I would go hungry to see a parade or show, one real meal at EPCOT is all we need, the sit downs there are so elegant and fun it is almost like a ride. The 2 of us together average $50.00 a day this way. More money saved for souvenirs! |

One of the most important things I've learned here at DisneyCentral is to do a "grocery stop" on the way to the resort , to stock up on snacks and bottled water.
Its so nice to have at least snacks and water on hand and it saves a TON of money. Have Fun!!
