$ Disney Dollars $

Last year after returning a stroller at the end of the day, I was rewarded with a disney dollar. I thought this was just a cute little momento, something nice to add to the scrapbook.

Then, I later found out this was part of an actual currency used all around disney! I now have a jar with collected disney dollars for our next trip. $ 100 so far. Every time we go to the disney store I get a few more.

I think it's great because I know it's money I won't be tempted to pull out and spend on something else. My question is to anyone who has done this before...
How many disney dollars do you actually bring with you? We will be there 6 nights, 7 days staying at ASMo and 4 days in the parks.

Anyone else a fan of the disney dollar?

:)

We have used Disney Dollars several times in the past as incentives for our kids to do their jobs. We do that for a couple of month before hand, and by the time we go, they each have $20 or so that is their own money to spend. It gets the kids excited about WDW, and they aren't always asking me for money. They seem to want to buy less when they know how hard it was to get it.

Disney Dollars can be used at any WDW restaurant, resort, store or park, just like regular money. I have seen families pay for entire meals at expensive restaurants with nothing but Disney Dollars.

Don't forget your local mall's Disney Store not only sells Disney Dollars but accepts them too! :)

Buy Disney Dollars at WDW, bring them home, and spend them at your mall. It'll make you feel like you're at DTD at World of Disney! :D

Disney Dollars Rule

My husband and I do two things for Disney!

We send in money each pay check to pay for room and build a credit for extra money..

The other is Buy Disney dollars we get 5 here 10 here 20 there sometime we get 100.00 just whatever we can when we are at the mall.. We give up one "extra" thing a month and spend that money on disney dollars.. They are a great way to get the extra money on your trip! I don't know about you but if I just tried to save the money I would spend it.. shoes. clothes..etc.. So DD are a great way cause you can't spend them.. All it takes is my husband hold me back from going on the Disney Store LOL...:o

We enjoy the cute money it's festive! Reminds us that you are on vacation and it's some how eaiser to spend thus we are more care free and have a great time! REMEMBER THAT YOU CAN CASH DD IN AT ANY STORE FOR CASH AT THE END OF YOUR TRIP!

Hope this helps have fun, it's VACATION!!! :) :D :) :D

Disney Dollars

My Son earned Disney Dollars for this past trip. He also received a few for his b-day. He was able to save almost 30.00. I agree it's hard (for me) to save vacation $ money without spending it. Disney Dollars is a great way to save for spending money for WDW.

My kids are saving for our July trip - they both had over $60 each. I'm saving too, for food. Makes me much less likely to spend it elsewhere.

The other thing my son does is buys his pins at ths store - we have no sales tax here, and the store pins are about $5. each - he saves a ton of money on each pin he trades down in WDW. He just bought a handful of the Mickey/State pins to trade down there. He was planning on buying the sets of pins, breaking those apart, and trading them, but they sold out.

$$$

We have given Disney Dollars to our kids before but we usually don't use them ourselves (although it is a neat idea)

Unfortunately our local Dinsey Store closes :(

My husband and I are going in November though.

:)

My wife and I just bought $40 in Disney Dollars for my 2 kids.
This is to make allocating some spending money more fun and easier for us to keep track of on our next trip. We have decided to do this every 2 weeks until we go.:)

I get Disney Dollars for my daughter to use in the Park. She has a lot of fun with it. For a small child Mickey money is always better than George.:) :)

I picked up 380.00 Disney dollars for this trip. Whenever I was near the mall I'd pick up a few here and there.
I found it a great way to have "cash" on had for Disney only, and I couldn't dip into it to go out for a pizza or anything:D

I have some disney dollars tucked away from the stroller days :) not much though because over the years I have tucked them in to birthday cards for neices and nephews. I never think of them as spending money. we dont have a disney store any closer then Dallas, which is 3 hours away :(

I trashed all the old disney dollars from the stroller days!:madmad So i've restocked on them now for our next trip. Can you use them at the resort shops and food courts also? Or a place like Chef Mickey's? Just wondering.

My DS, I'm sure, will want to get something at the shops in the resorts.

From what I understand you can use them anywhere at WDW or The Disney Store - Just as good as real cash.
