Magic Kingdom Club??

Has anyone heard of a Magic Kingdom Club?

I just read about it on passporter.com as a tip to save money but then when I did a search couldn't find anything else about it. Maybe it's an OLD tip that they just haven't removed.

It was a good source for Disney info and discounts but it has gone away. I believe it ended last year sometime.

The free Magic Kingdom Club was replaced by the pay for Disney Club which was eliminated at the end of last year to make room for the Disney Visa Card.

The Magic Kingdom card charged you a fee as well. Maybe not originally, but when I was a member they did.

thanks! Sorry it's gone. A lot of the "tips" on passporter.com were dated 1999, 2000 but I did get some other good ideas that I've copied and pasted into my "Disney Hints" file.

Found some more detail on the old card and how some got it "free". In a way, it was... but only to a select few:

"With the Magic Kingdom Club membership you receive discounts on almost everything that Disney sells. There are two different cards, the gold card and the regular Magic Kingdom Card. The regular card is issued from many companies around the country free of charge to their employees. Contact your Human Resources Department to see if your company offers this benefit. The Gold Magic Kingdom Club Card is purchased by individuals. The cost for the gold card is sixty five dollars for two years. The Discounts include all of the following:
10% discount at The Disney Store worldwide

10% discount from the Disney Catalog

10% or 20% discount on selected Walt Disney Resort hotel accommodations

Reduced prices on admission to all the Disney Theme Parks

Special 10% discount at Disney Village Marketplace and Character Connection at Crossroads at Lake Buena Vista

10% discount on dining at selected Theme Park restaurants

$10 discount on a "Walk Around the World" brick

Special offer from Disney Cruise Line

Special offer on a Disney Institute Vacation Plan

Up to 30% on published counter rates with National Car Rental

10% discount on AAA Basic Membership

Half price membership in Entertainment Publications' Travel
America"
