Florida Seasonal (AP) pass and hotel discounts

We are thinking (very seriously) of getting the Florida Seasonal Pass. It's $189 each for the year with some block out dates. We wouldn't go during those times anyway - especially the June-August time. It's super hot and crowded then and I am due with #2 in September - so no way!

Anyway - we are taking Emma (almost 3) to Disney for 3 days in 2 weeks (March 23-25). We are staying at All Star Movies in a preferred room for $89 a night at the Florida resident rate.

I read somewhere that an AP can get you rates at value resorts as low as $49. True? And does this apply with the Florida Seasonal pass?

Thanks!

We are going to WDW from 5/23 thru 5/29. We were originally booked at Pop Century but changed out reservation yesterday to Port Orleans - Riverside (waterview) for a rate of $89 per night using the AP discount rate.

We asked about just discounting our room at Pop Century but was told they did not have any discounted rooms available during that week but he could get us into the moderate resort for the same prices as we was paying at the value resort. :laugh

We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside (std view) a couple of years ago and loved it!

I think the Florida Resident discounts are just as good if not better then the AP discount. And you dont have to buy the Seasonal Pass, but it is a good deal for the pass, we are buying it also, can't seem to stay away from WDW.
:p

Hi, Mommy Moses...I am not sure about the Florida Resident rates, but I can comment on AP rates. They are GREAT! $89 for a room at All Star Movies sounds like a lot to me...I found MUCH better for you during your dates.

These are rates for AP holders and for Florida Resident Pass holders...the rates are the same for 4/18-7/4:

WDW Annual Passholders can ask for Code BCG and get special discounted rates for check-ins 4/18/04-7/4/04. So far the following rate has been reported:

Value Resorts - $59
Moderates - $74 standard, $89 preferred
Ft. Wilderness Cabin - $155
Animal Kingdom Lodge - $124 standard, $145 pool view, $200 savannah view, $365 concierge
Wilderness Lodge - $124 standard, $139 woods view, $175 courtyard view
Contemporary - $149 standard view garden wing
Beach/Yacht Club - $214 standard, $280 water view
Polynesian - $229 garden view, $315 lagoon view
Grand Floridian - $340 lagoon view
Other resorts, room types and views should be available at varying prices!

If you are a Florida Resident and carry a Disney Visa, you get an even better deal:

ONLY for Florida residents - ask for Code BCF and get special discounted rates at select Walt Disney World resorts for check-ins 4/18/04-7/4/04. Discounts range from approximately 30-45% off regular rack rates. Rates are the same as the Annual Passholder rates for the same date span. Proof of Florida residency required at check-in. Thanks to Small World Vacations for the info on this rate.

ONLY for Florida residents who are ALSO Disney's Visa cardholders: ask for Code CCA and get special discounted rates at select Walt Disney World resorts for check-ins 4/18/04-7/4/04. Sample rates:

Value resorts - $54 standard
Moderate resorts - $69 standard
Animal Kingdom Lodge - $119 standard, $195 savannah view
Boardwalk, Beach/Yacht Club - $209 standard
Other resorts, room types and views are available at varying prices!
Deposit must be charged on Disney's Visa at time of booking. Proof of Florida residency required at check-in. Thanks to Small World Vacations for the info on this rate.

I got this info from MOUSESAVERS, hope it helps...

;)

Thanks, everyone!

Kim - thanks for looking all that up! Those dates are not when we are going, though. Can I just go to Mousesavers and look up other dates? If I call reservations to figure it out, do I already need to have purchased my AP to give them a number or something?

You do not need the AP to book the reservation at the discounted rates. You only need to have it at check in.
