Icon5 Quick Questions

1. What should I take down there. I have alot of room and alot of stuff. I really don't want to have to buy alot while I'm down there.

2. Anyone do character auditions what are they like? I'm 5'2" and 150 lbs. Would I be wasting my time? What kinda role could I get and what do they make you do?

3. Anyone traveling that would like to form a TRAVELING CARAVAN and Split Hotel Rooms let me know. This is just an Idea for safty and money purposes. Possibly get there together and share rooms too. e-mail me at the_new_me@msn.com

Thanks,
Jessica

Re: Quick Questions

1. Clothes, bed sheets, and a list at the College Program site

2. Boy I can tell you stories bein a character myself...but to answer your question: You're height is one that they pay special attention to and need the most of. Weight's not always an issue due to the body pads. But I'm telling you. If you get hot extremely easy, are claustrophobic, can't take a lot of stress on your body, then you'd be wasting your time. Job demands a LOT of time, hard work, patience, and a lot of strenuous activity to your body. I don't want to scare you b/c I love doing it so much, but I won't sugarcoat it either. For auditioning, you act, dance, and "animate." They go by how you do these for placing you in entertainment.

3. You've a great idea but I'm down here already so can't help you there. Hope I've been able to help.

They actually can't get enough of the people who are 5'0-5'2. They pay special attention b/c that's mouse/tall duck/Lilo and Stitch height, one that we need A LOT of. Also, for others, 6'0-6'3 is one w/ a attention. Nothing to fear when auditioning. You go into a large room, get taught a small dance w/ steps used in a lot of shows/parades. Then when you audition, first you "animate." They'll give you a scene, you imagine your favorite character and what he/she would do in that situation. Word of advice, when doing this REALLY make your movements BIG AND LARGER THAN LIFE!! Then you'll dance, and repeat. Sounds simple? It is! Good luck!!

About face characters. You can only audition once a year. I'd say one out of every 20 people get selected for a face role. Unfortunately there aren't many characters in your height coming to mind that are face. Still, go for it. nothing to lose. Have a magical day!

Re: Quick Questions

O.k. I found out today that I won't find out if I'm accepted to the program until after I audition. I think thats something someone should've told me to keep from going crazy! But oh well Anyway how long after the audition before you knew you were in the program. And if you audition but don't get picked for a character do you still have the option of doing another postion or are you just SOL? Please let me know soon because if auditioning messes up my chances of getting in then I won't do it. Just getting to participate is good enough for me!

Thanks

Don't break down on me hon. LOL The way it's spose to work, at least for me it did, after I interviewed to be selected for CP, I was offered position in food service. The audition success replaced me from that position, w/ the former being a failsafe. So even if it didn't work to be a character, if the interview goes great you'll still be workin for da Mouse! Results usually surface in 2 weeks.

LOL.....very funny Also princess Jessica ...RowdyRAider is right i talked to my recruiter and that is exactly what she told me because i got confused because i was already picked for operations but only recieved a letter..no big packet...and i really wanted to audition for a character role ....she told me that she mad a mistake and accidently sent the letter and told me to audition and do not accept the operations offer until after i recieve notice in the mail after the audition ...if i wasn't selected for a character role that i would be chosen for operations....and that if i did get the character role that it would replace operations..which is cool for me because operations was my 2nd choice and the cahracter role was my 1st..so it's a win win situation...hope to see you down in FL

Re: Quick Questions

Awesome. I was starting to worry that while I was going out for a character that all the positions would be filled and then if I wasn't picked for a character I wouldn't get in. I wish I knew whether or not I was in though. My audition is 8 hours away and I'm gonna have to get a hotel for two nights so I'm probably gonna spend like $300 dollars and I don't know if I'm even in! The things we'll do for a dream. I'm pretty sure I got in though. I hope. Anyway cross your fingers Oct. 12th.

Thanks

How does the face character audition work? Do you just walk in and they look at you?? And exactly how much like a character do you have to look? haha... I'm 5'6", 120 lbs, brown hair, and really into this whole CP thing now! Please tell me I have a chance... I'd go for a regular character but I don't know if I could dance, lol.

You said it in the first sentence. You walk in, they look at you. You're right about the height for "princesses." You're hair won't matter b/c you'd be in a wig as a face. What they look at is YOUR FACE. For example, Snow White has a round face. Belle and Jasmine have more oval. You really should resemble a princess/face quite well, but then again I've seen some princesses who looked more like the stepsisters. Nothing like who they're portraying. If you get approved, great! But you may not be limited to performing one person. After all, one thing that Disney characters all have in common is they were drawn the same, so many princesses have same face! But hey, if not successful, you can always join us fur characters. LOL

Re: Quick Questions

Thanks for the answer. You're like my official CP Expert. I'm pretty much open for anything if I actually get into the CP thing. Characters included! Just watch out if I get a dancing part... me stumbling, things falling, lots of people pointing and laughing....
