International Program...
I'm so nervous...I just sent in my online application for the International Program.
I am now going to become totally obsessed with checking my email 10,000 times a day, and going down to the post office 5,000 times a day. Hope I get that lucky email/letter soon!!!

Re: International Program...
Well, Eric emailed me back!
-------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Tessa, You can also email me a resume and we will be contacting you for the Vancouver interviews coming up in October soon. Thanks Eric -------------------------------------------------------------------- Not alot of info, so I just sent him an email with my resume and a covering letter... what do you think of my CV? -------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Eric, The Walt Disney World International Program sounds like the experience of a lifetime. Working for Disney has been a dream of mine for years, and I would feel honoured to be a part of this program. I admire the Disney organization for their high quality guest service, commitment to excellence, and the way they offer everyone the opportunity to live their dreams. I am 19 years old. In December I will complete the Travel and Airline program with the Tourism Training Institute in B.C. Canada. Through this course, I have also received my “Superhost” certificate. The training I have received at this school has given me experience and knowledge of good guest relations, and ethics. The reason I am taking this course is part of the reason I would love to do the International Program: I enjoy working and interacting with people. I love to offer guests the best possible holiday experience, and ensure they have a memorable trip. I strongly believe in friendly outreach between cultures and countries. I love Canada, and would enjoy sharing my country and its rich history with people from all over the world. My first job, which I have had since I was 16, is at Famous Players’ Colossus Movie Theatre. In this job I have been trained in many different areas, gaining a lot of experience dealing with happy and un-happy guests. I have worked in various positions from Box Office to Starbucks, I have run Family Channel birthday parties, and trained new staff in many areas. I am a good team player, get along well with fellow employees and love interacting with the guests. I’m able to soothe difficult guests and have been able to remain calm in crisis. I am the main scheduled hostess for Birthday parties. The party coordinator, birthday children and their parents have praised my friendly and helpful attitude. Thank You for considering my application, Tessa Stafford -------------------------------------------------------------------- I hope I hear back soon! I feel sick to my stomach I'm so nervous/excited! ahhhh

Re: International Program...
CONGRATS on the interview Tessa! That is fantastic!!!
I am soooooo excited for you! I'm getting that nervous butterfly feeling in my stomach I got before I interviewed at Disneyland. ![]() Your letter sounds excellent. It's no wonder you got to the interview stage! Ugh, now you just have to wait for the interview. You should put a countdown in your signature for your interview!!! I'm wishing you so much luck and pixie dust! ![]()

Re: International Program...
yeah, 57 days! :S:S:S
I looked on the forums at wdwip.com and the questions I'll be asked are like... Tell me about your Country.....What would you tell an american wdw guest about Canada?........Why do you want to represent Canada....tell me about where you grew up? SUCH hard questions! I'm doing tons of reading and research on Canada though, so hopefully I'll be able to prepare a good answer. The people who get in are the ones who really "sell" their country...

Re: International Program...
WOW.
That sounds tough! It's great that you know some of the questions ahead of time so you can prepare, though!I thought it was hard when they asked me to tell them why I wanted to work at Disneyland... ...I didn't want to sound like a crazed Disney freak, but I didn't want to make it sound like it was "just another job" to me either. But selling your country! Yikes...Though I don't know anything about trying to do the International Program, the advice I offer you is to be genuine! Just don't sound robotic or over-prepared, and don't start to cry because you want it so bad. In my interview, I had one guy who "just needed a job" and one guy who had every prepared answer in the book. "It seems like a great environment" and "I think I have a lot to offer".... I was kind of nervous and blushing, but I just told them the truth - the Disney trips my family had taken meant a lot to me, and I wanted to create those kind of memories for other families. It sounded corny, but I think the lady could tell I was serious. Twenty minutes later I was a Paradise Pier Attractions Hostess! ![]() So with the International Program, does that mean you would be working in Epcot, in your country? Or.....?

Re: International Program...
awesome! Totally from the heart is the way to go :) Thanks!
yeah, I *will* work in Epcot, in the Canada pavillion, they have housing for all the International participants and they just deduct your rent from your paycheque (between 67 and 87 a week) They also make sure whoever you're rooming with is from another country, so Germany, UK, China, Morocco, etc. ahhhhh the 57 days till the interview are going to be painful! lol, It will be hard not to cry because I want it so badly......

Re: International Program...
Good luck with your interview Tessa. My daughter will have her interview in Calgary
in September. She talked with a girl at the Canadian Pavillion in January, who emphasized that the most important qualities were enthusiasm, friendliness, knowledge of your country. It also helps if your from a part of Canada which hasn't been represented too much (that being Ontario, mostly). So keep studying. You're on the right track. Like you, Emily has her "Superhost" certificate. It helps. When Emily has her interview, I'll post about it.

She said, I am the first one they've booked so far....let me know who else is going! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've screamed myself hoarse!!! HAHA!

How exciting!
I hope everything goes well for you! Is there a certain position that you want or are you just excited with anything they offer you? Everyone here will have to stop by and say hi whenever they are at Epcot! Good Luck!!
