Hi Ginger!!! Glad to hear things are rolling right along. I didn't even think about how busy it would be when you start--nothing like jumping right in! I think if you make it as a newbie Christmas/New Years week you will be able to handle anything life throws your way, lol.

Hey everyone! Greetings from Disney World!

Well as of today, I am officially a cast member! I attended the Traditions class where I received my namebadge and cast ID card. I am now free to roam about freely.

My roommate and I hit Epcot and MGM today--it was really fun, but very crowded. We only rode two rides--the Mexico boat ride, then walked around World Showcase, walked to MGM, waited an hour for RnRC, ate dinner, saw the lights, and went home...and we are exhausted! (We are both from the west so the jet lag has caught up at last--especially since we have been waking up at 5am every day since we got here.)

And I also found out my attractions I will be working....

The Aladdin Magic Carpets, the Swiss Family Treehouse, and the Tiki Room...not quite what I had imagined, but I am still very excited. Plus I think they are trying to ease us into WDW with easier attractions at first since we are literally jumping right into the fire with Christmas and New Years coming up soon. They said it's possible I could be moved at any time. But for now, you can find me there.

The ironic thing is I was telling one of my roommates how much I hate birds (I hate things that flap) and she told me how I had just jinxed myself to work at the Tiki Room...sure enough... At least they are animatronic and not the real birds like at AK. I would go crazy there!

Anyways, I have tomorrow and Monday off (thank goodness--sleep in time!), then I have two days of MK training, and then I will be working for good after that. So far I only know my schedule up until Christmas Eve (I work 7:15am-4pm that day if you happen to be there).

That is so cool. My son loves the magic carpets and we both love the Tiki Room! I don't know why it gets a bad rap but I hope you will learn to love it. When we are there the end of March we will look for you. (Except in the Treehouse - sorry )

Oh, I know I will love it. In fact, I am going to head over there in a few hours to check out the area, do the attractions, and find out what kind of costume I will be wearing. All I know about my costume so far is I need to provide black shoes and black socks.

OMG Tessa, I can't even describe how it feels to be here at last. It's a mixture of about 95% pure happiness, 2% nervousness, 2% homesickness, and 1% of I'm-so-exhausted-but-I-just-keep-smiling-because-it's-Disney (what can I say...I am jet lagged--that will go away soon.)

I arrived the night before and stayed at the Pop Century--I got a decent AAA rate of $71 total with tax. In the morning, I just took a cab from Pop to Vista Way where we had to meet to check-in. (Is that where the international program meets as well?) Anyways, the fare was only like $14 or something, so not too bad at all.

Funny story about the cab ride--the driver knew I was going to Vista, but he overshot the turn and somehow just kept on going to Chatham and the Commons. So I got to see that area as well before I checked in, and knew for sure that's where I wanted to live--it's so beautiful. Much, much, much better than Vista Way. I will be sure to post some pictures soon. Today is my day off, so I am going to take some.

Okay, I will post some more about the whole process later, but for right now I need to get out of bed and head off to the MK before it gets crazy today.

You are going to have sooooo much fun and adventure. I am a CP alumni. Worked in MK guest relations and picked up shifts in Epcot. I "lived" in vista way. My interm was January 94-July 94, got extra month due to them needed help. I then came home to finish college and just transfered to the disney stores. At the time they were still owned by Disney.

Secondly, gingita, your enthuasium is just pouring out of your posts! I am thrilled that you are thrilled, lol. I don't know very much about the CP but you have me now on a misssion to read about it. Something 'new' to me from Disney always makes good research Last week it was DLP, this week the CP.

I am glad to hear you have a couple days off to catch up on your sleep and check things out. Enjoy the time!
