Adventureland or Liberty Square attractions in the Magic Kingdom!

That's right, I may be working at any of those attractions--the lady specifically mentioned the Jungle Cruise. (Baloo, I thought of you when I heard this. )

I will find more about my specific role later today and what attraction they narrow it down to, but I just wanted to share the great news about my area!

I am so excited! So be sure to stop by and say hi if you are in the area!

One of my other roommates is doing Fantasyland attractions and another has quick service food and beverage at the All Star resorts. I haven't heard from the other three yet.

Yes, I am in Orlando now. I arrived on Wednesday, spent the night at Pop Century (which I really liked, BTW), then checked into my apartment and the program on Thursday.

I am living at Chatham Square, which is right next to the Commons where the international program lives. The apartment complex is super nice and I love it here. The view from my room is of Mickey's Retreat, which is a recreation area for cast members and family.

Yesterday and today was spent just doing LOADS of paperwork and orientations. Tomorrow I will do the Traditions class and start the training process, so I am ready to be completely overwhelmed when MK reaches capacity once the holidays start. We were told they are anticipating about 8 days of full capacity at the MK.

I also had to do an audio/hearing test today because apparently the area I will be in has a lot of loud noises and I will need to wear hearing protection. So I had to go to Health Services behind Epcot to sit in a tiny, claustraphobic booth and push buttons when I heard a beep. I was afraid to breathe because I couldn't hear the slighest of sounds then since I had these massive headphones on. It was quite the experience, but I found out my hearing is excellent (at least when I am not breathing! ).

So once I find out the specific role, I will definitely let you all know. Until then, I am off to find the bus to Wal-Mart. I hate when I forget things...

How totally exciting! (Even the boring stuff like paperwork and hearing tests are more exciting when you are doing them in WDW, right?

OMG! Try doing that in the bathroom of a modular trailer (which is no way soundproof), with dump trucks backing up right outside, and trains blowing their horn as they go by!! I basically failed my test the other day, but she understood and said I passed.

Seriously though - what about your DH? Is he relocating to Orlando too? Or just going to wait it out in Utah? Congrats and good luck! Maybe you'll still be there when we get down there.

DH is waiting it out in Utah. Actually he is in California right now big wave surfing, but then he has to go back to school January 9. He couldn't take a semester off like me since his classes for his major are not taught over the summer. I had to do the internship now and he had to stay in school.

But things will be okay. He is coming for a visit in February, so that will be good. And we are okay with being apart. It was really hard when he left for Cali the day before I left for Florida, but we are adjusting and are both super busy, so it hasn't been too tough yet.

I can't remember what you said was your term at WDW. I think you said 6 months - will you still be there in Spetember? I hope so, because we will!!!

Unfortunately I will be leaving on May 12. I decided to just do the 5 month program, but plan on coming back again sometime for a professional internship. So perhaps we will meet some other time in the future when I return.
