Hey Guys! Sorry this has taken so long!

I am really having a great time. Life is rough going to the pool before work or the parks on days off. I love it here and am not sick of Disney yet! If anything, I love it more!

The biggest problem I had when I found out that I was going to work at Pleasure Island was that I did not know how I was going to bring the magic to people. I came here to work with kids and the disabled. I was hoping to work attractions and do crowd control. Well it turns out I can still have a good time, talk to people and make magic at PI. I even talk to kids now and then! It is a lot better than I first imagined it. I'm at Disneyworld, how could it be bad? It is still my dream to work Attractions in Magic Kingdom, BUT I am really having a great time at DTD. The poeple I work with are great, lots of CPs and cool people. We get to listen to music all night long. The hardest part comes dealing with drunk people, or people who are trying to get in with bad tickets or IDs.

What is my role? I don't know if I've explained it yet. My favorite part is when I get to greet people at one of the bridges. You get to talk to people, answer questions and give stickers and maps out. That's what I came to do and I love it! The majority of the work involves working at the doors of the clubs. We ID people, give wristbands, handstamp, scan tickets, say hello and goodbye to people, and deal with drunks. It's really laid back and I do get the chance to talk to people. At the end of the night we are also the people telling you that you can't bring your drink off the Island. I have definately become and expert about Pleasure Island and Downtown Disney. It is a lot of fun, and we are outside but its all at night! The smoke isn't bad at all. Believe it or not, I am enjoying my job! I'm already thinking about extending my program because it is so much fun down here.

Good news to brag about, I've been complimented by my managers about how well I interact with guests. They say its not easy for some people, but that is my favorite part of the job!

One of our students (we own a karate school) also just got accepted a couple of weeks ago, and she's going to be working operations too. She'll be there August through January. My family is planning a trip down to see her in October, so I'll have to swing by and meet you too!

I am so glad that things are going so well for you!!! Reading your post makes me even more excited to be coming down there in August. I was worried that your job would have you breathing second hand smoke and feeling misererable. I'm sure your managers are noticing how good a job you are doing, esp since you weren't sure how you felt about it to start with. I think that if you continue to do well and network you never know where the magic will take you. You sound a lot like me.
I have never been to PI so it is something I am looking forward too meeting you. I can't wait to meet you in August because I feel like we are already friends. Keep us posted here. Have you met Tessa in person?
