Icon5 Help! I'm a newbie and coming to Disney in August!

First off, I have no idea what to expect. I want to have the best time of my life when I get there but need to have an idea of what it is like before I get there. I want to see pictures of the apartments if anyone has any. The pics I have seen are hardly detailed. Also, if anyone is going on August 23rd let me know, I want to meet possible roommates instead of being surprised. I am 22 and need to get info on life for the older, truly legal residents of the CP. Oh and one last thing my girlfriend is going, she is Pluto and I am a puppet guy, anyways, my question is if I will get in trouble for spending nights at her apartment and vice versa. Do they look hard at that stuff? Thanks.

Re: Help! I'm a newbie and coming to Disney in August!

Hi, I'm Valerie, and I am starting the program on August 21st. To answer your question about your girlfriend spending the night, my recrutier said during the presentation that no overnight guest are allowed in your apartment. Having guest spend the night could create problems for your roomates, and out of respect for everyone in the apartment it is not allowed. He said that you will get terminated for violating this. Some one else here who has done the program could probably say more on this subject. I am married, but my husband won't be coming to Florida with me, he does plan to visit as often as he can, and we plan on taking advantage of the hotel discount Disney gives CP'ers.
Congratulations on getting into the program and welcome to MouseBuzz.

There are a few CMs & CPs in here. PrincessTessa has been in CP since April and has a thread here that you'd find helpful "I've Arrived"

My girlfriend is going to be there also. She is in the prgram like I am. We are both going to be Character's. Is it still a big deal?

The rules state that you are not supposed to have guest spend the night in your apartment. It doesn't matter that you are both on the CP.

Re: Help! I'm a newbie and coming to Disney in August!

I am not sure if the rules are the same since I was a CP~

Disney is very strict when it comes to "guests" at the apartment complexes. If your girlfriend lives at Chatham (spelling?) then she will fall under the "guest" category for Vista Way and vise versa. Guests are not allowed to stay at another complex past 10:00 p.m. If you get caught with a guest in your apartment past curfew, then you jeopardize your roomates and your own CP experience. They have a no tolerance policy on fighting, underage drinking, and overnight guests. I had a friend who was in a wellness apartment and one of her roomates was caught with an empty bottle of Vodka in the locker in her closet (Disney conduct random searches) and all of the roomates were sent home. Very sad - she didnt even know that her roomate had the alcohol.

If your girlfriend lives in the same complex as you - then technically she can stay as long as she likes. BUT out of respect of your roomate(s) you might discuss their feelings on having her stay overnight. Ovenight guests (that live in your complex) are not forbidden - we had several friends that would stay with us because their roomate snored, they were having a party, or they just didn't get along with someone - and there wasnt a problem.

Re: Help! I'm a newbie and coming to Disney in August!

all of what Valeriekt said above is still correct, apart from that it has been relaxed slightly and u are allowed guests until 1am.

im pretty sure guests have to be signed in and out, so it would be pretty easy for security to see who is still there at 1am, so i would stick to this rule if i was u! not worth being terminated for!

Re: Help! I'm a newbie and coming to Disney in August!

Hey Guys.. I am leaving for my CP in just a few days and having a VERY hard time packing my car for the long drive. I have a few questions about what is provided. First, are there hangers in the closets? Next, is there an iron and ironing board? Last, what about kitchen towels and such? Any help you could give me would be great! I'm gonna have to eliminate a lot of stuff if i wanna see out my back window!!
