I'm 26 and I live with my husband and sometimes I still get homesick and call my mommy in tears! Ok..not that much but sometimes it does happen!!!! You're being a good mom though..don't worry..maybe send her a care package with some treats and some stuff for her to do on her downtime..i used to get care packages all the time in college and i loved them!!

I'm 36- live with my husband and my mom comes OVER EVERY MORNING still to get us all out of the house on time (ok, my husband was VERY sick for a very long time and we have 2 kids but now it's just 'cause she's my mom!)

and GOOD mom's Worry! It's part of your job- right! (I worry but about goofy stuff! Like when I can get my kids back to WDW)

Don't worry too much, faerie! Valerie is right, she is not stranded there, there are busses that will take you to WalMart (for groceries), the post office, etc. And a million busses to get you to work. I did not have a car down there and though once in a blue moon, I wished I had, I never needed one. You are pretty much on your own the first night after the orientation meeting but I think that is because they want to give you time to get to know your roomies. The first week I was there they did have some scheduled activities for us (an ice cream social, a BBQ, etc) to get to know each other, so no worries, there are people there who organize things for everyone to get together.

I also didn't have my parents down there with me, I flew down on my own and had to take the Mears Shuttle from the airport and it was a bit overwhelming to get all my stuff into my apartment and stuff on my own, but it was totally doable. I am sure she was just exhausted from an early morning flight and traveling and all the hoopla of check in.

Like I said, don't worry too much, I am sure she will be feeling better about it soon!

Also, I am not sure what complex she is in but as for safety, I was in Vista Way and there was a Walgreens, Bennigans, Wendy's and Chik Fila right outside the entrance that I used to walk to all the time. It was just as safe as anywhere else - just use common sense like you would anywhere!

I hope her second day is going better. I'm sure she was overwhelmed and exhausted. Leaving home for the first time is always tough, no matter how far away or close by you are. I'm sure within a week or 2, she'll know the ropes like a pro and laugh that she was so upset, I know that's how I was when I first left home. Just by listening to her, and crying with her, you will show her that you know she can handle it and that she will succeed at this. What a great adventure! We're all pulling for her and for you, because it's got to be tough to watch your "baby" leave. I can't even imagine how I'll react when that time comes for Ty!

ok you were right about everything last night her roomates mom took them out for supper now i feel guilty this strange women is taking her out for supper. gratfull but guilty she then went back in and went to bed. she is at vistas. says it is very nice she called me at work this morning laughing she was signing up for classes. she did find out she will be in fantasy land she is thrilled. she did leave before this she moved out for aobut a year. to live with her boyfriend who is now her fiance. but it was very hard they were not making enough to live. so she came home he moved back into his parents. I think she just was way overtired and so were we. thank all of you for being there for me .

Disney just annouced that they are building a huge health and wellness center behind Epcot. Cast members will be able to go there for medical care. You could be a nurse there.

I'm convinced that there is a job for everyone under the Disney umbrella.
