Cast Member Discounts

I have heard that cast members can get 50% off rooms for family and friends. How far in advance can those reservations be booked? Is there a set block in each resort that is used for cast discounts?

Thanks

Just call the Res. # and they will explain it all!
I have gotten 50% off every time I went and
I stay at the CBR!!
One bad thing is though, if they are over booked when you get there they will move Cast Members to another resort first! :(

So there isn't a 90-day window that you can't call and book before? Does it matter if its for a deluxe resort or value resort?

I'm getting different answers from talking to two different people at reservations. First girl said check back in a couple of weeks for the Dec discount. Second girl said only can get the discount 90 days out. Is either right?

My husband is a cast member and I booked our May/June trip on January 3, 2004 and was able to get the cast discount. In the 5 years my husband has worked at the Disney Store, we've went 10+ times and never had our resort changed or moved to a different resort. I always book 9 - 10 months in advance of our trip. :)

Probably because CBR is where Disney reservations puts a lot of people to keep the resort full.Never understood that because CBR is the worst moderate resort on property.Atleast your bump got you out of there:D

Wow, just another reason to consider Disney store as a 2nd job! I keep telling my husband if my job ever downsizes I was going to the disney store first!

I just booked 3 rooms at castmember discount 50% off for september so I think you can do it in advance within reason. Does anyone know if there are discounts available at the epcot restaurants or at the resorts? for castmembers.

I'm going in May and from what I gather is there is not set time when you have to call, I do know that cast members are only allowed to call between 2-4pm and 7-10pm on Mon-Fri and 7am-6pm on sat-sun. Discounts apply to all resorts on prop, except for dtd hotels and the swan and dolphin.
Speaking of that I just called reservations for rooms and they had conceirge available at both CR and BW for under $250!!!

As for restaurant discounts 20% discounts for most seated restaurants, including Character dining and Dinner shows.
Was there one in particular you wanted to go to Cindy??
If you're going to Epcot some of the restaurants only offer discounts for lunch. From May through June Restaurant Marrakesh is offering lunch to Cm's for 50% off, if thats not a deal I don't know what is!!!!!!

Re: Cast Member Discounts

I just booked our stay this afternoon at Wildnerness Lodge in December. My dh works for the DL Resort. I called Team Disney out here and they told me to call this number:

1 (407) 939-2278 / (407) wdw-cast (same number)

It's a special hotline just for cast member reservations. Is that the number you all called? I wasn't told to call only during certain hours - after all, it is a number just for cast members. I also wasn't told it had to be a certain number of days out from it. We are 5 months away from our trip.

We did get 50% off and I will NOT be happy if we are moved. We are really looking forward to this. I hope the chances of that are slim??

Also, how are we able to book rooms for friends and family? My brother may meet us there for one night, and I'd like to get him the discount but not have to put it on my credit card or even in my name. The chances of him changing plans on us are high and I don't want to be stuck paying for his room.

This is half of the reason I didn't want to reserve a room for my former friend when I asked her to go with me.
Since the discount is from a certain CM, that cm must make the reservation and pay the deposit...or so I've been told.
On the other hand, a my other friend (who is a former Cm himself), actually called the regular reservation number and got the CM rate by saying his friend was going to be with him. The person on the line gave him the cm rate and charged him, but told him not to do it that way.
Also they dont ask for any kinda ID number on the cast number, which I thought was weird, so he could call himself.

Re: Cast Member Discounts

My friend is the CM. Not sure which # she called but she had everything setup for me so all I had to do was call and put the deposit down within the 10 days of her booking the reservation. The CM on the phone used the term "sponsored by a CM" when I called in to put the deposit down. I just called the regular reservation #.

We had to play around with the dates a bit as my friend had got a tad confused as to when we were coming in and that wasn't an issue at all in doing so. I did end up with 2 different reservation #'s and have the possibility of having to switch rooms after the 1st night which is under a different reservation. But with all the $ the discount saved us it is well worth it even if we do have to change rooms.
