Planning first on-site trip

I will be taking my DD back to wdw in Feb 05 and we will be staying at ASMo for 7 nites. We will have APs this trip so I am hoping for some really good AP rates during our stay but my question is: Will I have to pay off the room before we get there or do I just pay the 1 nite deposit and then pay the rest upon check in?

Re: Planning first on-site trip

It depends how your room is booked. WDTC rooms need to be paid off 45 days out and CRO rooms can be paid off at check in. Just ask for what you want when when you book your room. If the CM saysw he/she can't book it that way say thank you and call back and talk to another CM.

Re: Planning first on-site trip

When I booked they asked me what I'd rather do. So this trip around I paid one night deposit at PO-FQ, but I paid the whole night stay at AKL.
Which one did you prefer?? I mean I did it both ways so I don't think it matters.
Take it from this CM, if the Cm taking your reservation says they cant do it, it's Bull, I did it both ways, so I know you can.
Actually they asked me if I wanted to put either 1 night dep or pay in full, it all depends on who you talk to.
Hey way to go, 7 night vaca, I bet you cant wait!

It's possible that *some* CM's won't be able to. They are phasing in new booking software and the implementation wont' be done until the end of the summer.

I think the best advice is to have the CM ask someone if they say they can't. Then, if they still can't, call back. USE the 800 #!!!!!

Re: Planning first on-site trip

Thanks for the responses, I not sure which I'd prefer I was just wondering. I am trying to budget for this trip as well as all the others I have planned. I guess I would like to have that option to pay for it all at check-in just incase. So can what number do I call for ressies?

I know, you should see me at work, I actually do work for about 10-15 mins an hour... the rest of the time I've got my excel worksheets out crunching numbers and planning what I will be doing on my trips! I've got it bad! My last trip was Oct 03 and it seems as if it has been forever...shhhhhh
I am secretly trying to find time to sneak down for a long weekend before November...shhhhhhh not pretty at all!!

I don't recall offhand the toll-free numbers,so I'll bump up the 800 numbers thread so you can see it.

Re: Planning first on-site trip

My experiences have been that if you call 407WDISNEY and you get a package, you have to pay it off before you get there. If you get a room only, it's a 1 night deposit and then the rest can be paid upon arrival. When I just booked for my trip back in April, I only had to pay the 1 night deposit. The rest was put on my card when I got there.

It's been about a year since I had to get a package. Now that I have my AP, getting the package deal isn't so much a deal any more.
