Beach Club Villas
Okay, I think that we have decided to stay at the Beach Club Villas. There will be a total of 8 of us going and it seems like it is going to be cheaper to get a villa than two rooms.
All of our children LOVE Mexico. They love the beach and love to swim so that is why we are thinking of staying at the beach club villas. There are only a couple of other villas on the property and we are thinking that this will be the one for us. 1) Has any one stayed there before? 2) If we are able to choose the area of the villa we want which in your opinion is the best place to stay? 3) Are they somewhat close to the pools? 4) Is early August so humid there it is not going to be fun? Anything that I need to know about the villa's? I talked to WDW and they told me that we need to book the room asap. She said they book up to 2 years in advance so to call back when it is a two years and one month before we come to make sure that we are able to get a villa. She said they book real fast!!! She also said that if we were able to find a better rate with WDW (special) that all I have to do is call them and they will upgrade us to the specail. I am just wondering if anyone else has done this before. I hate to put the 200 deposit down and a year later find a great deal on room rates. Thanks |

Re: Beach Club Villas
We stayed at the Villas last January. They are very nice and the atmosphere of the Beach Club is very laid back and relaxed. I'm not too particular about location, but I know that you can request a villa which overlooks Epcot, so that Illuminations can be watched from your room. We chose one that overlooked the inside courtyard. It was very quiet (that's important for me) and the view was of gardens & grass. Very restful. You are a very short walk to Stormalong Bay which is absolutely the best pool at WDW (it's more like a water park than a pool). Early August will be HOT. No avoiding it. You will most likely have a rain shower almost every afternoon. It cools things down for a bit, but it is very humid. As we are DVC members, I don't know too much about booking them, other than through the Vacation Club. As for other Villas, I have to admit that my favourite ones are Old Key West. The suites are much larger than any others on property. The Beach Club Villas are very pleasant, beautifully decorated, but somewhat akward in design, as compared to OKW. (That's just my opinion). But if your kids love to swim, this is the best place at WDW, and you are just a nice stroll away from Epcot.

I just found a better rate and changed my reservation. They are great about upgrading your reservation or changing it. In fact, I've had to change mine twice. Once the dates, because we couldn't get on the train the day we wanted and once because the 5+2 deal came along. At least that is one worry you won't need to have.

I looked into the 2 bedroom villa, and it didn't make any sense to me. You have basically a studio attatched to a one bedroom. The room layout is horrible to me. Plus the villas offer a king sized bed in the master, 2 queens in the second bedroom, and a queen sized sleeper sofa. Ok by using math and putting 2 people per bed, you've got maximum occupancy, but I know kids and sharing beds arent fun, someone gets to sleep on the floor. Kids wont mind, but adults, thats another story. To be honest the villas don't offer the floor plans I'd prefer, but if I do go for one I'd go with OKW for the room size as llama mentioned. Of course with so many people I'd opt for a grand villa, but thats just me. 8 people in one space, is another reason I opt for the grand villa at OKW. 3 rooms, each with their own bathroom, and a half bath near the kitchen, that works for me!

Re: Beach Club Villas
We stayed in the BC Villas last May.
In my opinion, the best part of the Villas to stay would be close to the lobby as possible, unless you could get a "Epcot" view. I know that the Epcot views are very hard to get. The Villas aren't all that far from the pool (stormalong bay). You do have to walk a bit and cut through the lobby to get there. And the is a quiet pool right at the Villas also. I'm sure it will be hot, but hey you've got the greatest pool are to cool down at every day!! You can't go wrong staying there!! Have Fun!!!

Re: Beach Club Villas
1) Has any one stayed there before?
Yes 2) If we are able to choose the area of the villa we want which in your opinion is the best place to stay? Epcot View for fireworks every night. 3) Are they somewhat close to the pools? Quite pool is very close, Stormalong is a nice walk away, but worth every step. 4) Is early August so humid there it is not going to be fun? Can you deal with 90% humity and 90 deg F, if so you are good to go.

We've stayed at the BVC - Love the rooms but the bathroom layout is a little strange - There is a short cut out the back to go to Epcot but since they were painting while we were there we had to walk thru the lobby - it was a little extra walking but not bad ![]() |
