Fort Wilderness Cabins Opinions Needed
My sister wanted me to ask everyone for opinions on staying at the Fort Wilderness cabins. (I keep telling her to check out DC for herself, but I think she hears how addicted I am and is afraid to start.
) Anyway, she and her husband have stayed at several resorts on property, including Wilderness Lodge, but have never stayed at Fort Wilderness. She's planning a fall trip (using the 7 for 5, of course!) and they're bringing her husband's brother with. Although space isn't really an issue, she thought the cabin might provide more privacy because they could have separate sleeping spaces. (My sister has a 2 yr. old DD, as well). So, she wants to know if people have enjoyed staying there. Also, how was transportation to the parks from there? Do you share buses with those at the camp sites? If they didn't want to do a lot of cooking, what other meal options do they have at FW (they're pretty used to the food court at other resorts, anything similiar at FW)? I'll pass along any info. you can provide. Thanks!

The Trails End restaurant is very nice. They have a buffet. Excellent for breakfast and dinner. I have not tried lunch. They also have pizza.

Re: Fort Wilderness Cabins Opinions Needed
I recommend the cabins 100%.
Yes you do share transportation with the campsites, but it has never been an issue for us. It is also really nice to take a boat over to the Magic Kingdom every day! The Trail's End Buffet is a great bargain and Crockett's Tavern is nice for a quick bite or a drink. Don't forget you can also go and see the Hoop-De-Doo Revue or Mickey's Backyard Bar-b-que. Both of these dinner shows are great fun!!!!! The cabins are fantastic. Not only do you have the extra room, you have a kitchen (if you want to cook), a grill, a porch, a picnic table, and your car is parked right outside your door!!!!! While you stay there do not miss the campfire/sing-a-long and outdoor movie. It is a great night!!! Chip and Dale even come and join in on the fun! There is also a petting zoo, pools, playgrounds, trading posts (for anything you might have forgotten or souveniers), carriage rides, bike rentals, horseback riding, etc. I could go on and on. I have stayed at the Contemporary, Port Orleans Riverside, and the cabins at Fort Wilderness. Fort Wilderness wins hands down!!!!! Enjoy your stay!!!!! Amy

Re: Fort Wilderness Cabins Opinions Needed
Buzz2001, your Coronado Springs Website was what made me choose that hotel for our trip last summer! And we loved it! I wish I'd taken more pictures, but we actually took hardly any at all on the trip. I may steal yours just to remind the kids! Thanks for making my choice such a great one!
