Poly or the Beach Club?!?!?!?
I have reservations at the POLY and am very excited!!! But in the past day or so have read a bunch of rave reviews for the Beach Club and it is a few hundred dollars less than the Poly!!
Just wondering if it is as good as the POLY?? I think the whole monorail at the POLY thing is a BIG selling point for me!! But my kids are BIG into pools and the whole Beach Scene, so is Beach Club better?? I just would like input on comparing the two!!! Thanks, sorry for all the indecisiveness I just want the best Disney experience possible And I am driving everyone in my family nuts with it!! So I figured you guys GET me!! Thanks again!!!

Re: Poly or the Beach Club?!?!?!?
Well, I have stayed in both, so I guess I am qualified. I loved the monorail, setting and grounds at the Poly, and the access to the MK and EPCOT was great, however, the rooms are not the best on property, though they are fine.
I just fell in love with the Beach Club when we stayed there. The rooms are nice (we were in the villas, but I snuck into a couple of the resort rooms to take a peak), the pool is fantastic, and I loved being next to EPCOT, since that is where we usually end up in the afternoon anyways, so it was as short walk home. My two negatives are that it seems like we walked a lot more, since we were in "walking" distance of a lot of stuff, and the access to Disney-MGM is poor. Really, it is a toss up. If I was going with kids 8 and under, I would stay at the Poly. If they kids were older, I would go for Beach Club.

Re: Poly or the Beach Club?!?!?!?
I get you...lol All of us planning perfectionists do. I was thinking about the beach club too when I booked for next January. I chose the Poly for several reasons:
Always wanted to stay there Monorail, monorail...did I mention monorail? lol Water Pagent View of MK Wishes The Poly's pool is just as cool as the Beach Club. It's a valcano pool with water slide. Not exactly a sand bottom one, but still cool. The tropical theme just makes me think "relaxing!" O'hanna's atsmosphere sold me on my last trip. If the resort is any where as homey as their restaurants, then that's a huge plus. I have never stayed at either, but just wanted to show you what drew me to the Poly. Hope it helped some.

Re: Poly or the Beach Club?!?!?!?
If your children are older, remember that the pools at Disney are only as deep as five feet (4? something like that), so you can't jump or dive into them, and can't get away from bottom-touching depth. The Poly has a beach for sunbathing, I beileve. It's true the Beach/Yacht Club slide is huge, but on a walk around the premises I was a bit disappointed in the pool area because it was still shallow EVERYWHERE. There's a whirlpool thing in it which is cool, and a mini form of the "lazy river" attraction at water parks. But there wasn't really much room for actual swimming (although I think there's quiet pools around too). There was a great little two inch water deep area for LITTLE kids with a huge mound of sand in the middle to play in (like a desert island). Unless I'm hallucinating that! When we were there there was a very tiny child who's mother was a good 10+ feet away lounging, and it made me kinda nervous as I thought if the kid loses her balance and falls in or something, mom will NEVER get there in time! :( So I was a bit mentally distracted.

Re: Poly or the Beach Club?!?!?!?
The Beach Club is an awesome resort, and if you plan to spen lots of time at Epcot or MGM the location can't be beat.
Same would go for the Poly if the MK is your park of choice. Either way have fun!!

Re: Poly or the Beach Club?!?!?!?
inluv... Poly is really fabulous, and it is fun to go there and eat a O'hana and enjoy the scenery. HOWEVER, if I had a million dollars and I could splurge on a WDW hotel, it would be Beach Club. First and foremost, it has the single most incredible pool in all of the World. You just can't imagine how amazing the entire pool is! Second, the restaurants are terrific and the hotel is beautiful, very vacation-y with perfect theming. And finally, the location is so perfect that it can really enhance your vacation! You can walk into the back door at Epcot, you can take a boat to MGM (you would want a bus to AK and MK anyway, right?) ... it just doesn't get better!

I've stayed at the Poly for the last four years. We fell in love with it in 2000 and have gone there again the next three years!!! The monorail, it's just the best, so easy, convenient, you can't beat it! The restaurants on the monorail line are unbelievable and there are so many to choose from. The pool is great and the best thing about the Poly is that there is no bad location. There are plusses and minuses about each house so really , you can't go wrong. This year we decided to do something different. We are going to the Beach Club Villas for 5 nights because we have never stayed there and then we are doing the Wilderness Lodge Villas for the next five nights because we haven't stayed there since the first year it opened. We decided to do both ends of the "World" in one trip. I figured we can't go wrong. I will tell you though, we will definitley visit our Poly because of their shops and restaurants. But honestly, I'll miss it this year!

Re: Poly or the Beach Club?!?!?!?
Oh I am so confused!!!!!
They both sound so great!!!! I really have been wanting to stay at the POLY but the stormalong bay looks so great!!!The big slide at stormalong bay, is it ok for my 7 year old son or will it be too scarey!!! He is sort of brave but not a complete daredevil!! Does anyone know? My 10 year old daughter went on that huge one at BB so I know she'll love it!! I just want to make the right decision!! I want all 3 kids to enjoy the pool!! I see BC has 2 slides one for little ones, so that would be good for my 5 year old!! I just do not want my DS to feel there is nothing for him!!! Any thoughts???

Re: Poly or the Beach Club?!?!?!?
Just so you know, the Poly also has a slide going around the volcano pool. If the slide is what you want, the bigger kids will love it.
