Another question - which Value hotel to pick?
Which Value hotel would be best to pick? We are traveling with my 3-yr old DD and are probably going to be spending a lot of time at Magic Kingdom. Which hotel is closest to MK and which would you recommend in general?
Thanks for the help! |

Grace, I really enjoyed Pop Century, but others on the board weren't as pleased. I don't know if any of the Value Resorts are that close to MK, but I think the bus ride there was only around 15 mins or so. ~Sue ![]()

None of them are close to MK.
Pop Century is neat because it's near DTD and you can see the PI fireworks. But it doesn't have traditional Disney theming. Young Disney fans are likely to prefer All Star Movies because of the Disney cartoon theming. Personally, I prefer sports, but that's only because we're big sports fans, no other reason.

none of the value resorts are very close to MK. The All Stars and Pop Century are considered to be in the Animal Kingdom area. I wish I could tell you how long the bus ride is from All Stars ..It seemed to be only about a 10 minute ride from Pop when we were there last March

For a 3yo, I would say All-Star Movies. There are character statues around the hotel for the kids to play around with and a nice fountain area for them to run around in too.
My son loves it there (he is 2yo)

Re: Another question - which Value hotel to pick?
I have stayed at both the Music and the Movies and they are both great resorts! If Movies is full for your time there, make a reservation for Music and then keep checking for cancellations for Movies. They will move your reservation to that resort should a cancelation come up. None of the values are close to Magic Kingdom, but they are only a short bus ride away.

I would not recomend Pop at all for you. 1) It has gotten a lot of bad reports, many of them from me. 2) It is about a 20 minute ride to PC from MK. I would say go with ASMu if ASMo is full. Man I cannot imagine that being full!!! WOW wouldn't want to be a CM there if it is full!!!

Re: Another question - which Value hotel to pick?
I just assumed it was full, but I think it's probably just not available for this rate. I called Disney and she told me that only the Music and Sports are available for this rate code. I guess I will go with Music, Thanks.

We stayed at AS Music last Jan. and loved it. I think you'll be very pleased with that choice!
