Polynesian Longhouses

Hi everyone!!
I haven't been back in quite awile. We are still planning on going WDW in Dec 2004 and we are still trying to decide on which longhouse to stay in. Here are the 3 we have sorta of narrowed it down to: Tokelau, Samoa, and Tahiti. Can anyone give us any info on these. Or if anyone has any other ideas on the longhouses, that would be great!!!

Janelle

Re: Polynesian Longhouses

We are staying at the POLY in Sept. and I chose the Samoa because it is so close to the main pool and the monorail!! I think all of them have been refurbished recently!!

Re: Polynesian Longhouses

We stayed at Tokelau in April - I liked the location. It was by the Quiet Pool. I'm not sure about the refurbishment schedule, though. Anywhere you pick will be beautiful!

I am hoping to book a trip and stay at the Poly. Was wondering which longhouse was the best.
Can you tell me why you are considering those 3. (I do not know much about the Poly at all.) When looking at the map, Hawaii looked good to us since it seems to look at the castle.
Thanks for your input.

Re: Polynesian Longhouses

Here is a great link for info on teh Poly
http://www.tikiman2001.homestead.com/

We stayed in Figi last June. Had a great room that had a balcony that overlooked the Marina for a Garden view Price. Also close to the GCH and you could see the Contamporary and the Monorail.

When you make your request, it is good to offer reasons for your request, so if they cannot accomodate your request they will try to find an alternative. Also, the less specific you are, the more likely you will get your request

Re: Polynesian Longhouses

We were at the Tahiti during the first week of May. (Tikiman says this is his favorite!) We had a top-floor, lagoon-view room.

Very quiet, and it's true that the beach there is used much less than the other stretches of sand.

It's also the most convenient to the TTC and the Epcot monorail, as well as the ferry to MK. We used the ferry twice, once to the MK and once back. (However, we did prefer the smaller transport boat that connects at the dock by the Great Ceremonial House.)

It's a modest walk to the Great Ceremonial House (and volcano pool), but not a burden when the valet is transporting your luggage for you!

The only time we regretted the location was when we were running late to get to the Luau, at the other end of of the resort! But even that was only a 10 minute stroll.

Re: Polynesian Longhouses

Hi,
my dh and I honeymooned at the Poly back in 2000 and we stayed in Tokelau.
It was perfect to be honest as it was situated close to the main lobby and monorail etc etc but you still felt like you were a million miles away. The walk to and from the main area is stunning and so tranquil, esp at night.
At that time, the main new pool was not there ,so the pool close to Tokelau ( which i believe is known as the quiet pool now )was very convenient and close to us yet also was far enough from us for if we wanted some peace and quiet.
The Poly is so beautiful though, i really don't think you'll be upset with wherever you end up!

Hope ive helped a little...i have to say I am now thoroughly fed up as I am not going to be at that little heaven known as Disney until June 2005!!!!

oh well, take care
