What is considered Garden View??
We are staying at the Polynesian in September and we have paid for the "garden view." On the Tikiman website it says that the Volcano Pool is a garden view from the Samoa bldg. Does anyone know if that is true??
I requested that building bottom floor on the Volcano side but I am not sure if I can get that because the cm was very confused if that was considered a water view or a garden view!! I know many people get free upgrades, which I will try to do but I want the best possible request in if not!!! Any info would be appreciated!!! ![]()

Re: What is considered Garden View??
Most of the Samoa building is garden view, so you should be fine. One thing you might want to consider is that the volcano pool is open until very late, and can get quite noisy during the summer due to it's small size and popularity. You might want to consider a room on the other side, with a view of the quiet pool. It is very pretty, and will be much quieter. Personally, I like Tahiti, no view of the pool, but very quiet and very close to the ticket and transportation center.
Be aware that in Samoa, all second floor rooms have no balconies, so when you check in, make sure you at least get the ground floor or third floor room.

Do you think it will be loud in MID Septmeber as well at night at the pool?? I was thinking it would be nice to be close to the pool because my kids LOVE the pool at any hotel!!!

Re: What is considered Garden View??
We were there in mid-late Sept. 2002 and the pool did get crowded at night. The resort is not too spread out - so being right near the pool really isn't an issue. Samoa is a conveninet location but Mickey is right... it might get noisy. The other side facing the quiet pool should be fine though. As far as views goes, there are 2 choices - garden or lagoon view. To my knowledge your view would have to be of the lagoon, not a pool to justify the price difference.
