My DBf who has never been to WDW has decided that him and his DS(11) want to come with us for a few days of our trip. I am so excited!! I ask him every time I book a trip and he is never interested in going. Today he calls me up and says he'd like to go. I don't know if I am more excited about taking our first vacation together or the idea of taking a "first timer" to WDW. I sware I am smiling from ear to ear for finally getting the chance to share this with him. We have been together for almost nine years and have never done anything like this, so I am a bit nervous too. OK so now on to the question I have. Thanks for listening to me gush... My resort room at the Polly is booked in my name obviously and is paid for. If he and his 11yr DS were to stay with us for 3 of my five nights, do I pay extra for them? Do I add them to the reservation for those days? I understand that park passes will be necessary for them, but am very unsure about the resort part. Guys, I cannot tell you how very thrilled I am about this. He came to this conclusion with no pressure or begging from me. I only asked him once and that is when I booked several months ago. This means the world to me that we are taking this little leap as a sorta family. We don't live together so this is really going to be different for us. We have never been anywhere over night together with the children and I have no idea what to expect. I want this to be perfect so expect many nervous questions to you families who consider groups of 4 a normal thing...me and my DD always go alone so I am thrilled with the prospect and challenge of incorporating them into our rituals and making some new ones to boot. If you could only see the smile I have right now.

Great Dana!!! The more the merrier I say!!! I don't know why you would have to pay more for them to stay with you. I assume the room can hold 4 people comfortably. When we book a room at WDW (2 adults and 2 children), we don't pay anymore than someone with 2 people. The only way you would have to pay more is if you were on a dream maker package in which ultimate park hopper tickets were included. I would just keep quiet about your guests and buy park tickets seperately. Also you can ask for extra room cards for your BF and his son.

I don't have any idea about adding on to the ressies....can't help you there, I just wanted to say congratulations!!!

Oh, yea...at the Poly there is a great daybed....I'm sure the kids will be fighting over who gets to sleep on it!!!

No ultimate passes or anything with this reservation, I am a AP holder this time around. If it doens't cost more to have them there, then that's great. If it did, I would have some tweaking to do with my reservations. I honestly wouldn't care what it costs. I just want them to come. Thanks for the congrats Lauren and Jeff...it's a really big deal to me on many different levels. I will email Scott at Mouseketrips and tell him to add them on for those nights. Thanks for sharing in my excitement!!! Just cross your fingers toes and throw some pixie dust that he sticks with this plan and does'nt change his mind on me. I have some plans to make now!! WOO HOO...a First-timer...oh the things I can share with him~

The rooms at the Poly accomodate five. But Dana - (and I know this will make you tingle) - you will be a FAMILY OF FOUR! You're just a run-of-the-mill everyday FAMILY OF FOUR, having a great vacation at WDW like thousands others. I don't even know if it's necessary to advise them (because you're not going over the allotted number of people allowed). With my kids at the age where they come and go at different times, we've always had different numbers of people in our room. Never been a problem But knowing you, call them up and confirm this. There certainly should not be any extra charge. Cause, after all, your just one of those plain, old ordinary FAMILIES OF FOUR!

With a room only ressie for the Polynesian, you can have 2 adults and up to 3 children under 18 (and an extra child under 3, but that is not your case) at the same room cost. So you can call CRO and add their names to your ressie. That way, the front desk will have all the names and know how many resort ids/room keys to issue at check-in. It is a good idea to add them ahead of time so you won't have to remember in your excitement to ask for the proper number of keys. Also, if their computers need to go down for some reason, they will issue the keys before your arrival and have them ready for you. This happened to me on my last stay. For some reason, they had printed the cards ahead of our arrival. But I was adding a person to our ressie and we had to go back later if we wanted another key made. If they had had all the info, they would have made the correct number of keys.

Thanks for the information and the congrats. I am going to contact Mousketrips and have them take care of the add-ons, but I just want to make very sure he isn't going to change his mind first. I can't imagine why he would when it was his idea, but you never know with this man of mine. I can't wait to take care of this. We are going to talk about it Sunday night. We have a christening to go to and then are going out for dinner, just the two of us. It will be easier to talk about this without the kids there putting their 2 cents in on the pros and cons..lol Wait till he sees the Polly!

Imagine almot nine years of total patience, admiration and love without forcing any kind of commitment or pressure. It's almost like hearing him say I love you for the first time. OK now I am tearing....I'm a big mush. Don't tell. He has ZERO interest in WDW and him wanting to go with me says so much.

I am sure that after he experiences WDW through your eyes, he will come to appreciate everything that you already know. With your enthusiasm I can't see how he couldn't. I am so excited for you. You are an angel for waiting so long for him to decide to go with you.

Dana I am so glad he is going !! thats like our Son in law next month.. we are hoping that he loves Disney enough that he will want to go with us every year :) Of course I don't have to worry about adding him and my daughter on to our reservations because, my daughter and sil will be staying with his brother who lives in Orlando.
