Re: Warning about Boardwalk Inn Concierge

I don't think that would be enough to satsify me. You paid, I imagine at least $500.00 extra for a service that you didn't receive. It's like paying for power windows in a new car, not getting them, and the dealership gives you some free oil changes.
I worked at Six Flags for a while when I was a teenager, and I understand how hard it can be to maintain the illusion day in, day out for 40+ hours a week. However, the park employees (especially at Disney) have to look at it this way: These people are taking a trip that they probably had to scimp and save to go on. Most people never get to go, and those who do probably only do so once in a lifetime. The CM's should take that into consideration, and try to make it as magical as possible.

You should have been given a complimentary concierge upgrade with any future on-site, deluxe resort trip. Why is that so hard? I'm a little disappointed with the token response. I'd expect more from Disney.

As to the original post on this thread, I hope a satisfying response is given. This thread has been interesting in many respects. So far, I can't think of one negative thing on either of our trips. I have always been in such a dream world while visiting I have never noticed any of the real-world issues affecting me or my family on our trips. I guess since I deal with those things every day, WDW has made me feel like a millionaire. I thought it was interesting what Henry said about the illusion because I have always been amazed at all the CM attitudes and how they really make the magic happen. So far we only go once a year, because I am the only WDW fanatic in my family (other than my 4 year old) so it is a very special event. Even though this thread has show light on the illusion, I still want to believe that this is a special place seperate from the real world and hope that it always is.

Re: Warning about Boardwalk Inn Concierge

I am not a "revenge" getting person, or someone who tries to get something undeserved, but I am a wife who had her wedding night REALLY messed up by a hotel in Washington DC and I know that the squeeky wheel gets attention.

I don't know what you can do with such a big company like WDW , but I would try to call WDW back and re-explain the situation, and that after thinking about it some more , you really think that WDW could do more. Tickets are over $50 now and that really isn't comp for the bad memories you have for your honeymoon. I would write lots of letters and at least ask for your extra money back. I think it would be fraudulent of them to advertise and tell you one thing about the Concierge and then not follow through.

I don't mean to get on a soapbox, I love WDW, but they really are known for their special treatment and they defiently dropped the ball here.

Just an encouragment here to keep writing until you are happy with the result. You will always think about this if and when you go back, so let it end on a happy note.

Good Luck!

You know I think you are right... I think I would continue contacting them until I was satisfied... I know earlier that I wrote (At least you got something) but It was your honeymoon... I think I would continue until I was really compensated..

Re: Warning about Boardwalk Inn Concierge

Was going through some pictures from a recent trip to WDW and thought this Tower of Terror lobby photo kind of summed up your concierge experience.

Boardwalk Inn Concierge. Nice hotel, hard beds, great front desk service, terrible concierge service.

Visited MK for one day during Christmas 1996, awsome decorations.
