Where to stay - you decide for us!
Well, we decided to delay our next trip to WDW from this August to next May because of conflicts with DD's college soccer schedule. That's OK though, because we have even more time to make plans and save dough-re-mi. Anyways - I'm posing a question: We've never stayed at PO Riverside and we're seriously considering it for our trip (third week of May). We've been there several times to eat and "look around." We think staying in the antebellum mansions section looks like the way we'll go. However, my brother in law stayed at CS a couple years ago and recommended CS instead. My wife always listens to her baby brother and now thinks CS might be the place to stay.
SO --- we have decided to take a poll of fellow DCers. We'll stay where you decide we should stay. (Probably!) Thanks - vote early! We'll be making our ressies fairly soon.

Re: Where to stay - you decide for us!
We've stayed at both and I would choose PO Riverside. Much more kid friendly. Coronado Springs caters to conventions. It's extremely spread out, and if you are put in the Ranchos section it is a hike to everything. I'm not a great fan of "southwest" decor - but that's just a personal choice. The one thing we absolutely hated at CS was the food court. I'm a generous as the next person, but I kind of resent having to tip in a food court. PO Riverside has gorgeous grounds, an excellent food court, caters to families and overall just has a more friendly, laid-back feel.

Re: Where to stay - you decide for us!
We have stayed at both CS (once) PO( twice). I prefer PO. Very laid back, nice food court and pool. I would stay at PO again. In fact of the moderate hotels, I think it is the best.
I do not know if I would stay at CS again. It was too spread out. A lot of walking after a long day in the parks. But it does have an awesome pool. My vote PO !! Good luck Karen |

Re: Where to stay - you decide for us!
I have to say I like the theme of POR much better than CS. I love the look of the mansion section, we had planned to stay there last summer but decided to upgrade to WL when a great deal came out. I still want to try it, it just looks so beautiful.

Re: Where to stay - you decide for us!
I voted POR. We stayed there in Oct. '03, and loved it. We stayed in the Alligator Bayou section (Building 14) and were right by the delicious food court, bus stop, and close to the incredibly themed pool (Ole Man River is Awesome). My DD loved the entire resort. Even though we are DVC members now, we intend to stay there again because we just loved the laid back feel, quiet restful appeal, and excellent staff. I would take another trip to POR again in a minute. It was an excellent place to relax and unwind after an eventful day at the park.

Re: Where to stay - you decide for us!
POR hands down. It has a sort of calm, cozy feeling that I didn't find at CS.

Re: Where to stay - you decide for us!
I voted for POR. We stayed there last September and loved it. Ask for building 14 and you will be close to everything. Make sure to save some time to go to the piano bar. We had a great time there!

Re: Where to stay - you decide for us!
I, too, voted for POR. I think it is a more family friendly resort, plus you can use water transportation to get to Downtown Disney, if you wanted a change from busses.

Re: Where to stay - you decide for us!
I too voted POR. It is sooo much nicer and I too enjoyed the boat to DTD. I do have to say that I have never stayed at CS but the convention goers scare me and I like a smaller resort area.

Re: Where to stay - you decide for us!
I would stay POR because I love the theming but also due to the food court at CS. The food court is not disney owned and in my opinion reflects this. There is a gratuity automatically charged on your food. We stayed there in Nov 2003 and did our best not to eat in the food court. We did eat at the sit down restaurant and it's yummy!
