One night, where to stay?

Ok, so here's my situation. We're staying at the DoubleTree Suites from 9/2-9/9 (I work for Hilton, so I get an insane rate). Anyway, it's me, my boyfriend, and my dad. My bf's birthday is on 9/8. I have a great day planned for him, fireworks, dinner at Narcoossee's, Pleasure Island. I was wanting to get an extra room for just that night, so we can have some privacy from my dad. I could just get an extra room at Doubletree that night, but since it's just for one night, I thought I could splurge and get a Disney room! I also noticed that the discount codes for September are out now. So, the question is....where should we stay? I'm thinking a moderate, AKL or WL, since they have good discounts. Which would be more romantic? Also, is it even worth getting a room? We might be there a little during the day, then won't get back till 2am or so, leaving around 9am. Any ideas would be great! Thanks!

Re: One night, where to stay?

Both WL and AKL are stunning but in there own way each. I would stay at AKL because we just love animals and you get to see the most amazingly up close animals. When we stayed there I couldn't wait to get up at 5am and open the sliding dorr just to see what was outside!

Re: One night, where to stay?

Well, I called Disney today, and booked our one night stay at AKL!! I do have one more question.... I was wondering if we would be able to use the Extra Magic Hour for that day. Do we need to check in first? I read somewhere that you can check in as early as 7am, is that true? I assume that we would need a resort id, but if we can't check in until after 11am, the emh will be well over by then. Thanks!

I am sure you will be able to check in as early as you want, but your room probably won't be ready as early at 7am.

Yes, you can check in, but there is no guarantee that your room will be ready!

Well yeah, I assume that the room won't be ready, I just want to get our resort ID's so we can do Extra Magic Hour at Epcot!

Re: One night, where to stay?

the AKL and WL are deluxes not moderates. if someone didn't mention that already. the broadwalk is nice because it has all that life and music and stuff going on around you. I was looking into this same question for my gf and I and i think the descision came down to views (which if your splurging you have to go all the way and get a good view) and for views it came down to

1. AKL, you get to look at the animals. open your window and there they are.

2. contemporary up high with MK view.
a. you get the fireworks
b. you get the whole view of the park underneath you.
c. cute monorail ride at anytime.
d. what a view of the lake, the polynesian and Grand floridian.

so if youre going to splurge then you might as well splurge in a way that knocks your socks off.

Sorry for the delay in responding, I was away. I would have to say that I liked CS better. I actually liked the Pepper Market for quick meals as opposed to the food court at CBR. It did seem like a great deal more walking at CS so if that is an issue then you should consider it.
