Let's hear it for the newbie! which moderate?
Being the new "tink" on the block, I was hoping that I could get some advice on narrowing our vaca destination on which moderate to pick.
We will be going on our next adventure in May of 05 and this is our second time. Last year we stayed at Holiday Inn family suites and we absolutely loved it! It was so wonderful that I am afraid to stay anywhere else, but we would really love to have the complete disney "experience". I have already massively researched the moderates and think I have it narrowed down to Coronado Springs or CBR, but am open to any words of wisdom. The most important thing is the bus system. HIFS was extraordinary and I'm afraid that we will be let down with any other. We hope to find a resort with a bus stop that isn't to far from our room, we don't wait to long for it, and one that won't be standing room only, with our 2 young children. I hope there are some out there that can help me. Thanks for watchen out for the newbie! |

Re: Let's hear it for the newbie! which moderate?
Welcome to DC!
I personally haven't stayed in a moderate resort so couldn't offer any suggestions other than what I've picked up by word of mouth. If you have 2 young children, I think that Coronado Springs caters to more adult type crowd. They tend to draw more of the business traveler there because they have a convention hall. Don't know this to be fact but what I've heard. As far as the bus service goes...I don't think that you can go wrong by staying on property. Our very first visit we too stayed at HIFS and the bus service was good only because we had nothing else to compare it to. We didn't like how if you missed the 1:40 bus then you had to wait for the 3:40 bus or however that worked. When we were ready to leave, we were ready to leave & didn't like to wait around for another 2 hours or so. Also, seemed like a big hassle to catch the very last bus if you were staying late to watch a night show. I think that you can't go wrong staying on property. Once we stayed on property, we don't want to stay off.

Re: Let's hear it for the newbie! which moderate?
Welcome to DisneyCentral! IMHO, I liked POFQ the best of the moderates. (the only moderate I have NOT stayed at is CS) POFQ is small, so you are never far from the food court, pool, or bus stop. Even though it shares a bus with POR, POFQ is picked up first and dropped off first.
I am sure you will have a great trip no matter which resort you end up staying at. There is nothing like being surrounded by the magic 24/7!
