In fairness, I re-read all the posts, on the thread, about it, and to be honest, I don't see any responses, that were out of line, considering how you began the discussion. Agree to disagree I suppose, but, I am not at all suprised, to see a rise out of parents who don't want advice, or to be insulted from someone who isn't.

The whole argument is neither here nor there, to me, because I know I am a good parent, and my DD is a good kid, and the people who disrupted my trip the most were adults, so maybe their parents should have gone with them, too....lol.

PLEASE tell me that you didn't use the word "vermin."

Splashing at the pool, making noise, even a tantrum or two among those who have been traveling, are tired, out in the sun, etc...should be expected. If you didn't want to deal with that you probably shouldn't have gone to Disney. I'll be honest there.

It isn't pretty, but this trend is EVERYWHERE! The other day, at Pincess Diaries 2, the woman behind us blabbed on her cell phone through the entire movie! And I mean LOUDLY! Lots of people asked her to shut up, but she acted like she didn't hear us! And then, unbelievably, she once handed the phone to her daughter (8 or 9 years old?) and said "Daddy wants to say hi, Sweetie!"

You have every right to honeymoon at WDW or anywhere else you choose. People with children have the same right to vacation where they choose. Sorry to disillusion you Jenny - but with all the best intentions in the world, there are going to be days when your little darlings are going to turn into "vermin". That well-behaved little angel that you praised at breakfast - the one with "good" parents who keep her "in hand"? Well, by the time three o'clock rolls around and she's hot and tired, and cranky and rolling on the ground - does that immediately demote her to "vermin" status? No. Children are human beings, not toys for adults to enjoy on "adult" terms. For the most, they are not "brats, "monsters" or "vermin". (Even the ill-behaved ones). They've just had the bad luck of having parents who don't care. I'm sorry if I have offended you - but, I guess I needed to "vent" too.

Cell Phone in the Movies, Huh! I've got one better than that.. We were at at a funeral for the mother of one of my DD's classmates 2 years ago and a cell phone rang and the woman it belonged to who was sitting behind me answered it...and began to carry on a conversation... in the middle of the funeral service.. when everyone glared at her she got up and left the service to talk. Do you believe that? Now to me that is the height of rude behavior...A cell phone at a funeral...Give me a break!

I carry my cell phone with me everywhere, even church, the movies, etc. That is the only kind of phone we have. DH is a truck driver, traveling all over the country. I want him or his company to be able to reach me in an emergency. HOWEVER, I turn it to vibrate when I am some place that it shouldn't ring audibly. Even when we are at WDW, I turn it to vibrate when we are in the shows. On the very few occassions that I forgot to turn it off, if it rang, I would push the button to make it go silent right away. I can honestly say that it has only happened a very few times in the 7 years we have had the phone. I can't believe anyone would sit in a funeral and talk on their cell phone!
