Re: Disturbing trend part 2

I suppose if while facing the parent or child one conducts oneself firmly, calmly, and politely, one gets a lot further than yelling. Plus, you don't want to sink to their level.

Re: Disturbing trend part 2

I completely agree with EmpressJenny. I was recently in WDW a week ago and was extremely disturbed with the amount of out of control, rude children. I was SO annoyed for most of the day because parents don't watch their kids!!! Kids walked wherever they wanted to walk and stepped in front of (on on!) whoever they wanted. They screamed, cried, cut in line, threw food on the floor in restaurants and pretty much just got on my nerves! I am a teacher and love children and teaching, but I have never come across kids like the ones that I came across there. It seems like kids just keep getting more out of control and spoiled and parents are getting less concerned with their child's public behavior and raising proper-behaving children. I even saw one child hit his mother several times because he wanted a drink and the line was too long! Unbelievable! I can honestly say that I learned things NOT to do when I'm a parent. I love WDW and everything about it, but the obnoxious children and their parents are definitely going to make me reconsider my next trip!

Re: Disturbing trend part 2

I am so annoyed reading all of these responses. Get a grip everybody!!! Yes, sometimes kids are bad! Yes, sometimes children have tantrums because they are tired or hot, etc! Yes, kids will be kids!! BUT...there is NO reason to let kids act how they do sometimes! You may all be happy with your little kids running around "being kids" in "the happiest place on earth" but what about the people that are visiting without kids? Its annoying to have to stand in line with kids that are pushing you and stepping on your feet and complaining! They should have one month every year where NO KIDS are allowed! Adults only! I bet you that they'd be busting at the seams with people (more than they are now) if they allowed this. I know that I'm not the only one that feels like this. And by the way, I would not be afraid to call my child a "brat" if they were acting like one!

I agree that children need boundaries!!! I am a teacher and a parent and you truly do not get it until you are a parent too!! Sure my kids act up and maybe are even brats at times but I believe again it is the parents fault not the kids fault!!!
I do not know where you teach but all kids complain!!! You try as parents and sometimes it works and sometimes it does not!!

It sounds as if you HATE kids!! That is scary if you truly are a teacher!! Come on you were a child once and I am sure you missed behaved at least once in your life!! No one is that perfect!!

You do not know any of us and I feel that my kids are very well behaved and I expect alot from them!! Yes I hate it when kids are rude or use bad language or cut in line too!! But complaining and splashing at the pool Come on!! Sometimes the adults that do not understand that are the BRATS!!!

I do not mean to be harsh but if you have NO KIDS of your own you have no right to try and put us in our place!! Many things I do agree on but there is a hard line with children of your own!! All I want you to know is many of us do expect good behavior but we are all human even our kids!!
I have taught with young women that do not have their own children and all they tend to do is crab about how horrible the kids are until they have kids of their own and realize it is not like playing dolls!!

Again I do not mean to be harsh but just like you have no tolerance for children I have no tolerance for ADULTS who just want it their way without any kids around!!

Re: Disturbing trend part 2

I'm not saying that my children in school don't complain. They definitely do!!! That's part of being a kid. I accept that. I just don't like that WDW is a frustrating experience sometimes because of the way that parents allow their kids to be. All I was saying is that I agreed with how she felt about how out of control some kids can be. I'm very tolerant of children that are tired and hot and have had a long day. That's fine. I don't condemn children for their behavior...I blame the parents. They are the ones raising the children! I also didn't say that my kids would be amazing, perfect kids. I know that they won't. But I will certainly try to not allow my children to ruin other people's vacations! Just because I complained about the lack of control with some of the children there, it doesn't mean that my vacation is ruined. Its just a little strained and stressful sometimes because of some of the families there. I certainly wasn't saying that any of your families were like that since I do not know any of you personally. And yes, I am a teacher and I LOVE my job! I work very hard to do what I do and I'm good at it. I love being with my "kids" every day and being part of their lives! But just because I don't enjoy some of the children that misbehave in WDW or the parents that allow it, it doesn't mean that I'm a bad teacher or person.

THey do and it is called club Med.
Mr. Disney created Disney for a place to bring families without the worries of normal Amusement parks.

And to date these parks uphold that responsability, Walt just flipped over when you said that children should not be allowed one month out of the year.

I have never hard anything as crazy as your statement in my life. I am not being rude, but maybe you should revisit your experience. Look at the other children, the ones you did not see because they were behaving. Look at their faces, look at them hugging the characters, more importantly look at them with their families. YOU HAVE ME FRUSTRATED.

I totally agree with inluvwithdisnet! All kids have their moments even the most well behaved kids have their bad times. and the comment about wishing a month of Disney with "NO KIDS ALLOWED"? I can't even imaging that and I don't think Walt could have either.
