Question about a question
I found this question on another site and I don't get it. Let's see if any one here knows what this person is talking about:
"My cousin will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge at the end of October (if he does not get scared off by security concerns) with his wife, two kids (under 8), and in-laws. I have read the Intercot resort guide and even visited the resort briefly a few years ago on an architectural tour of the resorts. I am looking for any additional information that I might be able to pass along." What the heck could this mean? That the building isn't sound or that there were break ins? ![]()

Re: Question about a question
I think he means security concerns as in travel in general and terror warnings and whatnot.
There is a tour of the WL where they take you through and show you the property & buildings. Totally unrelated to the "security concerns" I believe! LOL

Re: Question about a question
I stayed at the WL a few years ago & it was wonderful. If it wasn't structurally sound, you could have fooled me. I loved everything about it. I too think that maybe the security issues may have to do with the travel itself as opposed to the resort itself (maybe even security in Disney as a whole).

Re: Question about a question
I, too, took it to mean security concerns regarding travel in general; not relating directly to WL.

Re: Question about a question
I am in agreement here .. I know that WDW has beyond the average theme park security . every resort you must first pass a security check point and provide picture I.D. if you are driving in.

Re: Question about a question
Let me tell you, I had a little "security concern" when I was at the Poly. The second floor was EASILY accessible from the ground, and the sliding door lock was completely snapped in half and not usable. To be fair, maintenance came right away and made a temporary fix until they could replace it the next day, but it was still not Disney Standard!

Re: Question about a question
I agree wth the others: it sounds like he's describing someone who has issues with traveling in general. Also, some people are afraid that Disney could be a target for terrorists, as would be any large American gathering place.

Re: Question about a question
I just got back from WL on Monday. I had a ground level courtyard room. When I first saw the sliding glass doors I was worried that someone could get in the room and it was just my Mom and me. When I looked closer the door had a big steel rod that hooked for extra security. I love this resort and everytime I try another one I am sorry that I did not stay at the WL. I really think the security issues that they are talking about was due to the terrorist acts.
PS when we were at the Magic Kingdom someone tried to get past security without checking their bag they were stoped in a big hurry and had to empty their pockets and bags. |
