Just got my reservations papers
Hi guys.
I just got my reservation papers. I'm so excited. I was wondering. Where is the best rooms at Pop Century? My papers say: Disney's Pop Century - - Classic Years Wide World of Sports Area. Is that where my room is located? If so is that good? Let me know. Thanks

Re: Just got my reservations papers
The PC is located close the the Sports complex and the classic years is the part of PC that is open now. There is to be another half to the PC kinda like the all star resorts. I haven't ever stayed there, but Tinkerbell has stayed there a few times. she may be able to help you.

Re: Just got my reservations papers
The buildings at Classic Years are set up by year .. the 50's to the 90's ..our favorite were the 90's but if you want to be close to the lobby/foodcourt/ bus stop I think most perfer the 60's and 70's. For us we didnt think the 90's was that far because we simply cut across the parking lot :)
the other part of Pop Century is not being worked on (or at least was not being worked on as of last August) When it opens it will be the Legendary Years. besides being close to Wide World of Sports ..MGM and Epcot are the closest parks .. MK is a good 15 -20 bus ride from Pop Century.. Pop Century is my DH's favorite resort after AKL

Wow, a 15 - 20 minute ride to MK. I was thinking of doing some resort hopping. Not so sure now. Would I have time?

I dont know why you wouldnt have time .. you could catch the bus / monorail or boat from the parks to different resorts.

Re: Just got my reservations papers
No, we're just staying at Pop Century. But we are going to have one day that we may not go into the parks and just wanted to go to the different resort to see what they are all about. Not sure how time comsuming that is gonna be tho. Do you think we'd have time to do that. This is how that day was to play out:
check into room at 3 grab a bite to eat at Pepper Market, then check out a few resorts and maybe downtown disney. Then about 8 have dinner at Beaches and Creams followed by hopefully being able to watch some fireworks. Is that possible or am I pushing it? (we are using quick silver transfers so we won't have a car)

Re: Just got my reservations papers
Resort hopping takes some time if you plan on using WDW transportation. You can't always get from one resort to another w/o going to a park or Downtown Disney first. (Some resorts do share a bus but you can't always count on that.) If you resort hop in the Epcot/MGM resort area you can see a lot of resorts in a couple of hours because you can walk between the Swan, Dolphin, BoardWalk, Yacht Club, and Beach Club.
I also think having dinner at 8 at B&C and then trying to catch IllumiNations is pushing it. The wait can be 30-60 minutes because there are so few tables. However, you may get lucky and walk right in but you can't always plan on that. Don't miss Downtown Disney, we love walking around soaking up the magic (and spending lots of money). I think if I had to pick I would pick DD over resort hopping.
